    A few newie questions
Someone was talking about getting the Spurs today because of the Duncan situation at a "reduced" price. What exactly does this mean? If there is a possible injury you can get the spread or ML for a little cheaper?

Also, what are some of the best websites to look at trends? I know scoresandodds.com which is good, not really trends though. Any good ones free?

Also, I notice some people say when the line moves pretty drastic they don't want any part of this. Why?

For example, today the Spurs game was around -10 and jumped to -8. I'm asusming this is because of the Duncan might not play possibility correct? Is it more risky if the lines is drastic?

    LAST question, sorry!!
I see Nova beating Duke by 4-5 points. I want to change the spread to Nova -4 and give myself a bigger payout. Is this common? I believe this is called buying points right. What do you guys recommend with this stratagy? Should I just stay at the -110 spreads and pick my winner?

    THANK YOU IN ADVANCE!!

Because those people were late to get on the right side.

And that makes sense. Looks like I already learned my lesson in seeing the Spurs get down to -8 and STILL taking them...learning...its a process

buying points goes the other way, if villanova is -2, and you buy 3 points (+3) then its villanova +1, i dont think you can go the other way

You can make Villanova -4 but not many sites let you do it, it is called selling points, or if you like another team to crush the spread, you can put it a Pleaser.

Because if there is a major line movement and you don't know why, it's usually because there's a key piece of info you don't know about.

Yes, that kind of short-term line movement doesn't happen in the NBA (except on opening lines, every so often) unless there's new injury info.

Buying and selling points is fine, and sometimes advisable, provided you are getting a fair price on the buying and selling - be careful, because you often aren't. If you are getting a bad price on the buying and selling of points, then it's usually better to just stick with the original line. The "half-point calculator" here on SBR is useful for that.
