Quick Question...Sacramento played a road game in New York on 3/3 and won/covered...are they still a play? Wouldn't the series be voided by that game or no? Sorry if that question has already been asked and answered, but I looked and didn't see it, if it had.

It's a good question. Unusually, though, Sacramento played out-of-conference 3/3 against New York (they won SU & ATS) which is irrelevant to the Morrison "in-conference" rule, then they went in-conference (lost heavily ATS) which is relevant to the rule, and now they are back out-of-conference again for 3 games. Common sense might suggest that the team ought to be voided due to their air miles fatigue, but the New York game was out of conference therefore outside the voiding rule

On that basis, although very unusual, I think the series remains in place.

WE HAVE MADE A MISTAKE

Guys,
Turfgrass (Post #813) asked if Sacramento's V1 series #133, commencing 3/6, should be voided due to their SU & ATS win at New York. I answered the question referring only to the "in-conference/out-of-conference" concept. However, I completely overlooked the fact that the game against New York was their 1st road game in a series of 8 road games and was not on our Morrison schedule. It was, in fact, the A Bet in what should have been a V2 Series #130 commencing on 3/3, and it would have been a winning bet.

At the outset of the season, the schedule was published and checked by various contributors and I accepted it in good faith. So, I view this as a collective mistake with no-one person responsible for overlooking this crucial fixture. I fear that we have all just lost money unnecessarily.

Now, with regard to the stats, I have to record Series #130 (V2) as an official A Bet win. I know our bankrolls will not align with the official record, but every official result is a "back test" for the future, so today's Morrison post (below) for the sake of system accuracy cannot reflect Sacramento as a series loss.

That New York game was a make-up game from the snow storm from hell that never happened.

WE HAVE MADE A MISTAKE

Guys,
Turfgrass (Post #813) asked if Sacramento's V1 series #133, commencing 3/6, should be voided due to their SU & ATS win at New York. I answered the question referring only to the "in-conference/out-of-conference" concept. However, I completely overlooked the fact that the game against New York was their 1st road game in a series of 8 road games and was not on our Morrison schedule. It was, in fact, the A Bet in what should have been a V2 Series #130 commencing on 3/3, and it would have been a winning bet.

At the outset of the season, the schedule was published and checked by various contributors and I accepted it in good faith. So, I view this as a collective mistake with no-one person responsible for overlooking this crucial fixture. I fear that we have all just lost money unnecessarily.

Now, with regard to the stats, I have to record Series #130 (V2) as an official A Bet win. I know our bankrolls will not align with the official record, but every official result is a "back test" for the future, so today's Morrison post (below) for the sake of system accuracy cannot reflect Sacramento as a series loss.

Yeh, when I recognised the oversight, I wondered if it was a postponed game. After all, why would Sacramento be scheduled from the outset to go from the west coast to the E coast for 1 game, back to the west coast for 1 game, east coast for 6 games then finally go home to the w coast? It got past us. We move on...

Guys, I've been reviewing the Morrison Rules regarding the 2 recent Sacramento series. The first series started with a (make up) road game out of conference at New York which, crucially, they won SU and ATS. They then returned into conference for 1 game against San Antonio which they lost SU and ATS. They then lost SU and ATS out of conference against Orlando. Those results made it a V2 Series win at the A Bet. They then remained on the road out of conference for 2 more games, so the V1 Series validity rule came into play.

Pasted below is the Morrison Rule governing the validity of V1 series following any in-conference road games (Page 13 in the latest pdf - Jan 2014), which has never changed in its description of where the road games took place. I've always interpreted the rule to mean that only any previous in-conference road games had to checked. However, with apologies to Turfgrass, I now recognise that the rule doesn't apply only to in-conference games. It is universally applied to all road games. The underlined text is actually in the pdf and, although the preceding sentence refers specifically to in-conference road games, the underlined eligibility statement does not exclude out of conference games:

"Now, an exception would be that if a team has been playing road game(s) within their own conference before they start 3 consecutive games vs. 3 opponents from the opposing conference, then you should only treat the 3-game series vs. the opposing conference as eligible for play ONLY if that team has lost ALL of its road games straight up from the beginning of the road trip."

Therefore, the Rule tells us that Sacramento had to lose SU any preceding road game, wherever it was played, to enable all subsequent 3 consecutive road games, out of conference, to be valid for a V1 series. That criteria was not met when they won SU at New York. Consequently, the V1 series that I published commencing 3/6 at Orlando is void, in retrospect.

Turgrass correctly raised the issue and I gave him (and all other readers) an answer I believed to be correct. I now know that my interpretation of the "preceding road games" concept was in correct. So, not only do I apologise to Turfgrass, but I apologise to everyone else.

As I stated in an earlier post, the record must reflect the correct application of the rules. Therefore, I have retrospectively voided the Sacramento V1 series in both the Currently Published Morrison System and the Morrison 1-7-5 System.

That make up game tripped me up in more ways than one.....

Our initial JM schedule, showing the potential v1 bonus play, was wrong because of the rescheduled game, nothing we can do about that. You can't ignore a game that was played...It was played!

If you were to do a backtest next season to find the results of this season, you would have no way of noticing that was a rescheduled game. You would count it as a v2 win because that is how it appears in the results. You guys who are not fading JM have one v2 (A) bet win with Sacramento and NO bonus v1 play. Move on.
