Detroit love getting smallish guards like this, makes no sense, they have more than enough guards. Only positive I guess is he does add a some scoring and he gives them energy.

In order to implement his strategy, Van Gundy wants a solid 3pt sg who can also slash the paint occasionally. not too many free agents who fit this criteria. Hence why they slightly overpaid Jodie

Not a great contract, but at least he is a good character guy. He has a better attitude than 90% of the guys in that locker-room. Reports are saying that Pistons are trying to trade Josh Smith, possible sign and trade deal for Isaiah Thomas, sending Josh Smith to Sacramento. Stan Van is already cleaning up.

Can you imagine a team with Rudy Gay, Josh Smith and DeMarcus Cousins. The Three Losers.

The only person that's stupid here, is the one that can't see why Detroit is doing this.

They were next to last in 3 point shooting last year (thanks, Josh Smith!) and they're filling a huge need bringing in a guy that shot over 40% behind the arc last year. This is only a three year deal, so they're not marrying the guy, and ultimately you're going to have to slightly overpay anyone to get them to come to freaking Detroit.

NBA has gone crazy.

No contracts seem normal, either teams get absolute steals (like the Mavs getting Monta Ellis on 8-9 mill a year), or they're stuck with bums like Perkins on 8-9 mill a year. Are the Thunder finally amnestying him this year? It's only like the 3rd summer in a row they have the chance to do so and finally fill a void coming off the bench.
