I normally would agree with you except that questionable move Popovich made a while back where he sat Ginobli, Parker and Duncan against the Nuggets (I think or maybe the Hornets) before a long East coast trip. I can't recall another coach doing that (beside's Don Nelson) in a race for the playoffs. He pissed off alot of folks with that move as he clearly gave up a game on purpose.Comment -

He sat them against the Nuggets but it has done the Spurs well because their role players have a lot more confidence. They've obviously had to pick up the slack because Ginobili is out and even when Duncan missed a couple games in a row, they still did relatively well. Pops definitely knows what he's doing so he did it for a reason.Comment -

Oh, I didn't say it wasn't a good move because it was brilliant. They performed extremely well after that game but got hit with Ginobli going down again unfortunately.
My point was that I knew several people (many in this forum) who were on the Spurs initially. It was a key game that would have given the Nuggets a good measuring stick of how good they were and Pop made this move which ironically started the decline of the Nuggets a bit. But for many bettors they were scratching their heads. A buddy of mine had the Spurs and the line was like 3 at first. I called him and told him that the line changed. he was like, ok, who's out. I told him Parker, Duncan and Ginobli and he was like "Get the Fuk out of here", I was like, no I'm serious all 3 of them are out. He called his book immediately and was fortunate to get the play cancelled.
Great move but very questionable. I actually thought the NBA should have done something about it because it sets a bad precedent IMO.Comment -

Mac, you do have a point. A lot of people were on the Spurs and then when the news came out, the line went up like crazy. If you got the Nuggets early, then you won but the line went all the way up to double digits and I think the Nuggets kept it relatively close. It is questionable coaching but whatever works in the long run is good for them I guess.Comment -

I think the line ballooned to +13... The Spurs covered easily. I think I took them at 12 or 13 even with all those guys out it looked like an easy play but I sweated it for awhile as I recalled.
