To me this is the best series to pick, because its a guarantee( nothing is guaranteed in sports or life) but what i like about this series to my advantage is that ALOT of people like the Raptors, from general public to the analysts, ive seen at least a 50/50 split in about 40 nba analysts,etc picks on this series. but the bulls series 90% like the bulls vs the wizards.
the nets are a 6th seed, but are still favored to win it, that is rare to have a team be 6th playing 3 and still favored.
Anyways, The raptors are inexperienced and cant shoot, (Lowry -42 % shooter, Derozan 42% shooter, Ross-42% shooter, Greivas - 39% shooter)
The nets can shoot alot better, all there star players shoot better from 3 and 2 pt range
Another thing, in the regular season Kidd never played KG big minutes to keep him healthy and fresh for the playoffs, He only avg 20 mpg in the regular season, He will play 32 mpg at least and be big. same with Pierce and JJ there minutes will increase

Bad price. The Raptors are a solid team and to say they can't win it is foolish.
I think this series gets defined by two things. One, Brooklyn is an atrocious road team. Even in the second half of the year when they were playing better, they didn't perform very well on the road, and there needs to be a huge improvement from the opening tip or the Raptors will make shots and stay with them.
The second thing is the Nets presence in the paint. KG/Plumlee/Blatche will be aggressive and Johnson/Valenciunas are going to get beat up. If Toronto can keep the points in the paint relatively even, and if their bigs can stay out of early foul trouble, it'll hurt Brooklyn's chances quite a bit.Comment -

And i would argue that they are atrocious road team, hardly so. They are 12-14 on the road in the new year same as Heat and Pacers, Raptors for example are 14-12. And that record includes the end of the year where the team rested everyone.
Nets season was significantly impacted by injuries. Not counting Brook Lopez, if guys like AK47, KG, Dwill did not miss as many games i'm sure Nets would have ended up with a better record then Tor.
Another point Nets fans like to use as an argument is that many of those loses came on b2bs, including both loses to Tor. 6-14 on b2bs which is 10th worst in the league and the worst out of play-off teams. Which makes sense cause they are an old team and Kidd had minute restrictions all year including sitting KG most b2bs.
In addition one of the loses to the raps was a last second to that lead to a layup which gave the Raps a 1 point win.
I think an argument can be made Nets are a better team and i think Vegas bought into it.
I dont expect an easy series though, Raps are young and the Nets have issues with speed. They also have decent size is Jonas and decent rebounding with Johnson. Lowry had a great year and outplayed Dwill in their matchups (although i think Dwill missed 2 of the games). It'll be a good one but i can see now some reasons BK is favorite.Comment -
