Why did the magic buyout Glen Davis?

I don't follow the magic but it seems he was putting up solid numbers despite being in a slump in February. I only watched one magic game which was ORL@DAL, and big baby was the only reason the magic kept the mavs from routing them by the end of the 3rd, his mid range jumper was money (in that game). somebody who understands magic basketball please enlighten me...
