Taking the Wolves tomorrow against the PG-less Lakers is just asking for trouble

Of course after the game I may look like a fool if the Wolves win this easily as they "should"... After all the Lakers are going to be using a guy like Xavier Henry or Nick Young to handle the point... But I'm putting myself out there for better or for worse.

Consider this:
-90% of the public pounding the Wolves
-Public perception of the Wolves sky-high after they easily handled the 22-5 Blazers yesterday
-Nationally televised game
-First game without Kobe since his new injury (aka NBA teams usually perform pretty well in the first game after a major guy goes down, and the Lakers have proven to be at least acceptable without Kobe)

If anything has ever smelled like a public burial to me, this would be it.

Well that's why they have to start a SG or SF ar the point. Blake Nash and Farmar are out. Kobe would be the best makeshift PG but he's out as well.

fade? you mean play right? from what i've seen new system is based on playing teams with a major guy out..

I'll probably take Lakers +6, imo they matchup well with Minny and will make it a really tough game for them. What do you think about Toronto +6 ? It seems like Mavs should be a bigger favourite, really, but I think Toronto cover here.

Actually I have the exact same thoughts as you on the Mavs game. Expected +7/+7.5 or so, that said I find Raptors have been overvalued pretty much all season so I'm not sure what to make of it. Still they look a little more fluid since the trade so they could cover here, I wouldn't be surprised.

HT update: from what I've seen of this game, the Lakers absolutely look like a team playing without a PG. Completely lost and 10 turnovers in the 2nd Q (which is all I've seen).

However it looks like they came out with energy in the 1st and mustve executed well given the amount of assists and low turnovers. So tale of 2 quarters I guess. In 1 I looked like a genius and in the 2nd like a moron.

Hope my angle supersedes the basketball purists' "they're playing without a PG" angle. We'll see. At worst I'll lose 0.15x thanks to first half bets so it won't be an epic fail at least.

From what I've seen of this game I can't really be confident but that said I didn't see the part where the Lakers looked good so I'm not in a good position to judge. Not hedging anything, if I lose I lose, riding out my feel for this game. Either way 60% of my stake on this game has already been decided.
