Only OKC was too dumb to run the clock down, shot with 4 secs on the shot clock. All you have to do is take the shot with 1 sec on the shot make sure you hit the rim so the time taken for the shot to reach the rim and to tip the rebound eats up the 2 remaining secs.

Yeah Wizards one was even worse cause they were guaranteed a last shot to tie at worst.

Well you can do a lot in 4 seconds. But the shot/game clock differential was only 3 so if you're smart and take a shot just before the buzzer, by the time the shot reaches the rim, the rebound is tipped and the other team calls timeout, time is usually up or all but up.
