My favourite play on the board today. I think the overall matchup here favours Detroit. Detroit has one of the best line ups in terms of big men, Drummond, Smith and Monroe are all excellent on hustle, rebounds, shot blocking and field goals. Detroit coming off a 3 day break and two game losing streak (to Indiana and OKC) means they will be hungry for this game. Jennings is yet to have a dominant game this season, and should be ready to break out and post a big line at any time. I also think that Detroit hold an advantage on the bench compared with Portland's bench.

I know Portland are strong at home, but I got a good feeling about Detroit in this one.

I also like this play the most today. Blazers front court is pretty weak. Lopez is average player, the trio of Drummond, Smith and Monroe should be dominating him. The only way Blazers could win is their jump shots dropping at a high rate.

Detroit have been disappointing in their last 3 matches, giving up an average of 109 points per game. Golden State had one bad offensive night which lowered their season points per game average quite significantly. Golden State returning home, Stephen Curry will be back in form in his second game back from a minor ankle injury. Detroit are hitting 105 points per game on the road and giving up 110 points compared to Golden State who rank 3rd in Home scoring at 111.5 points per game whilst giving up 90.5. Although Detroit are on a back to back its important to note they are on a 3 game losing streak now which they will be trying their hardest to bust out of. Ive got this total well above 210.

Really good day today, the first half of the day went exactly to plan, but i got caught up on the last 3 games. Rudy Gay came through with a game high 23 points. Toronto were money all the way, I wish I went a bit harder on the unit sizing. Cleveland were ugly today just as I had predicted. Its been a pretty positive week clawing my way back from 8 units down. Its a long season and I'm going to keep hacking away and working towards a profitable season.

Houston @ NY

Houston -1.5 X 4 UNITS to win 3.6 UNITS

NY are in a perfect spot now for a let down game. Houston on the other hand let a game slip away yesterday after being up most of the game, and letting Philly bang a 3 down to send it into overtime. NY had a surprise win yesterday in Atlanta in a low scoring game. They now return home to face Houston. The key between these two sides this year is that Houston are a much more capable team of creating scoring opportunities, where as NY has struggled early in the season to put up enough points per game. I think Houston will win here easily. Im expecting the pace / tempo to be high this game but I still can't trust NY to put up enough points to make any plays on the game total. Houston at the line is the play.

OKC @ Golden State

Ive been tossing up about this game all morning and I think I have an answer. Im not sold on any game totals this game because OKC tend to adjust their tempo and defence to their offensive effectiveness. Big man Kendrick Perkins is out for OKC which doesn't translate to too much considering they have one of the best shot blockers in the game with Ibaka. Away from home I don't think Westbrook and Durant are as effective early in the game and tend to throw up some bricks (especially Westbrook) I think Goldenstate hold a much better advantage in Field Goals ranked 2nd overall in FG%, and 6th in FG made. Compared with OKC 16th in FG% and 20th in FG Made. I think over the course of the game Golden State will pull away slowly, Im expecting a 7-10 point win from Golden State.

Unfortunately I missed out on NBA Friday and didn't make any plays because I didn't have the time to look into the games.

Today I got back on the horse and had a few plays I liked. I didn't have as much time as I would have liked to pick through the games, hence the lower unit sizes. It was fortunate because I was so tempted to put more units into Indiana ML. Its days like today you wonder if the NBA is fixed at times. How do the books release such a crazy line of Indiana +1 who have not lost a game, against a Chicago side who haven't managed to hit any form this season? And then Chicago come out and bury Indiana by 16 points? I guess any side can have a bad night, but when the books bring out such a ridiculous line it makes you wonder. Rant over.

Another positive result today. Starting to hit my stride and getting on a win streak.

Portland are on a hot streak at the moment and its hard to tip Toronto at first in this one. But when you look at Portland's impressive record you notice that they have had some relatively easy games against lower performing teams. Portland don't seem to have depth from their bench and Im just waiting for a key player to go down with a serious injury to derail their season again.

On the flip side you have Toronto coming off a loss to Chicago at home. Represents a good bounce back spot, Portland are due for a let down. The books have been pretty smart about the line putting Toronto as two point favourites. Its easy to over look Toronto and put your money with Portland based on record. The public will most likely be on Portland here.

Yeah I loved the Under in particular but was a little bit put off after loosing 2 points of value over night. Im watching the game at the moment and the second quarter is being played so slow. Total may not even hit 170 the way its going.

Im pretty confident on the game total. Games without D.Will have resulted in a more up tempo offence. Portland coming off a back to back might not be as tight on defence which could allow a high scoring game. The play on Brooklyn is purely a gut feel. Based on form Portland should be the favourites for this game, Brooklyn are without a few key players and shouldn't be favoured for this game, yet the books put them out as 2 point favourites. It happened so many times last season where teams with missing players had unfavourable lines, so the public auto faded due to the injuries and the team with the missing players went on to win by large margins.

Minnesotas 3rd ranked Offence is coming up against a Washington side that has been struggling to close games. Everything in this game points to a Minnesota win and a high scoring game. Washington allow 106.6 ppg at home, and Minnesota put up 106.8 on the road. Both John Wall and Rubio love a fast paced tempo and Im pretty certain this will happen from tip off and not slow down. Minnesota are naturally one of the toughest teams to match up on due to their size, passing abilities, range and speed. I hope I'm not wrong on this one...

Im pleased that my Boston team has come up with some early wins this season without Rajon Rondo. Houston have an impressive offensive game but struggle to shut other teams down from scoring. Houston are ranked 29th (2nd worst) in Points allowed. Although Boston is not the best team for putting up alot of points every night, they have not played against any up tempo teams yet (e.g. Denver, Golden State, LA, Washington) Ive got this game predicted at 115-100 line.
