I noticed at about 100 bets in you were pretty much 50-50. Do you think you learn more about the teams as the season goes on? Have you noticed this in previous seasons as well?
Also, how do you cap quarters?

You are absolutely right, at bet 105# I was +0.34u so break even and during that time I've hit my lowest during the season (-9u). The main factor here is that I learn more during the season but from a lines maker point of view and not of players/teams.
Usually the lines are softer at the start of the season (I usually do ok) but apart from Portland amazing start no one did what they weren't supposed to do (the strongest won, the weakest lost), so the lines were pretty much spot on regarding sides (ats) and I tried to "go along" for the ride and things started to run good. As far as Totals go....that was a different beast, all those Overs were hard to predict (even if the lines - looking back - were soft as sh*t) and I've struggled (specially in 1H total bets) to get by until I learned my lesson and started to play more overs. [On both markets: SIDES and TOTALS I'm currently above the overall hit rate of 55%].
Quarters:
I have tracked some teams (ATS Q1) performances by taking notes on the closing line and outcome. That combined with widely available quarter stats (google teamrankings) make these plays for me pure mathematical/statistical bets (one clear example being the Bobcats at Home).

92 points 1H in LA....and wait....82 (yes u read that right) 82 freaking points in 3Q, 51 of which were score by the lousy (worst team ever in franchise history) Lakers...c'mon!!!
and don't get me started on TOR/CLE.....books begging for ppl to take the OVER (64% were on the OVER indeed) and 2Q + 3Q = 125 points...wtf??Comment -

warning for those who usually follow my plays: Even if I'm still above +40 units &+55% lately I've been having mix results in the big plays. Yesterday's is a clear example of that!
I really like this play, Nets coming from 2 OT in a row and we all know their're old, really old, so I'm not seeing them hanging close against the #Bobcats at home! Also as a bonus the Nets are now a very big public play!!
