    78 *!!! *

    ESPN: *

i guess ESPN FANTASY has more realistic expectations for the rest of Kobe's career

this year is going to be great.. can't wait to see Oden.. if he's good.. and Westbrook back.

as well as the Rockets. should be fun

ESPN saying they will finish 12th is ridiculous.

how so?... the refs won't be handing them games like they did last year..
because there is NO chance now of a Lebron vs. Kobe Finals..

which is what Stern was desperately hoping for...
does anyone remember the FT discrepancies in games this year? (particularly 2nd Half)

i counted at least 7 2-3 point victories that were handed to the Lakers.. on hilariously transparent calls.
they will be MUCH worse this year, folks.. MUCH worse.

only reason why kobe is so low is due to them not knowing when he will return. A healthy Kobe even at his age is a top 20 fantasy player. He will be carrying the offensive load once again as they have no one else

Not saying whether the Lakers will finish 12th or not, but taking anything seriously from the prediction of people who seemingly think 40 wins gets you into the WC playoffs could be a little dangerous.

They have Jeremy Lin ahead of Kobe

Do they already know Harden is gonna get injured or something? Not that Lin would be ahead of Kobe anyway but with Harden in there he is basically just a spot up shooter.

near 40-year olds do not return healthy after torn achilles (see Billups last year). Kobe and Lakers are done.

If Kobe is healthy, Stern will instruct his cronies at the head office that come hell or high water, the lakers will be allowed to make the playoffs. It wouldn't surprise me to see them win 10 straight to begin the year...courtesy of crooked refs or other team coaches who will lay down...so that Kobe can make his triumphant return in January if he is in fact not able to return opening day....

Near-40? So are 25 year olds also "near-30 year olds"?
