Hey u wanna debate individual performances...no problem..we can do that all day..but those performances do not result in his team winning...they often never do...why do people always reference Kobe's regular season performances...in seasons where the Lakers don't make it out the first round? Lebron can drop 40 a night if he wanted to....but he knows that's not the way....there is a more efficient way of playing basketball that benefits the team...your boy never learned that. A college education might have done it...but alas...he wanted to go pro early....go listen to Dell Harris, Rambis, Jerry West had to say back in 97/98 about Kobe's style of play...ball hogging and ill advised shot taking...it was his main problem then...and continues to be...go look at the performance he gave against Utah back in 98....4 air balls in the last minute...costing his team the game...
Field goal percentage does matter....when you shoot as much as Kobe does and miss as much as much as he does, it becomes a telling stat.....Casual fans are very swayed by the amount of points a player scores....all the while ignoring how he scores them..its like the ball player who knocks 50 jacks...but strikes out 300 times......I do not give a shit about 4 straight 50 point games and 81 points in a game when your team is loosing..Kobe has done that his entire career and he does it by taking the most shots......all the while getting bounced out of the playoffs year after year...The Triangle offense is designed in such way that every player contributes and scores...Kobe would not adhere to it and this is why Phil said he is not a leader...thats a hall of fame coach telling you that..let me borrow from Ratz for a minute...

Dude no one can score 81 points in a game today. No one. Teams won't allow one player to do that. They will double, tripple Lebron if he starts to heat up. Bryant is and always was a much better jump shooter than Bron. Not even close in this respect. Kobe scored 63 against the best team in the NBA at the time in the Dallas Mavericks. After 3 quarters...He outscored them by himself. That will never, ever happen again.
Just look at Bryant when he speaks. He speaks like he's a college grad. On the other hand, Shaq has a PhD and sounds like a dumbass. Bryant is much smarter than Lebron James or D Wade.
