Dwight NOT returning to Lakers.. (as predicted)
i have been saying this from the very beginning...

Kobe treats him like an intern.. and there was NO WAY he would go back..
(for 3 more yrs of that). and Kobe is playing at least two more..

so for Dwight it would be: 2 more yrs. of being ignored in the 4th Qtr.
and called out as a pansie in the media*if he's injured

..and Kobe has a cell phone and Twitter to torture him and D'Antoni after that every time he misses a Free Throw.

now very strong reports that he is leaving.

i can't believe so many Laker fans were convinced that he would stay..
    i guess their reasoning was...

"who could ever leave the Lakers?"*

Dwight Coward is simply not designed to play in big market teams. Guess he's headed to Houston if he doesn't stay in LA.

Laker rabble absolutely 'insisted' he was staying.

what awesome, is that free agents will bust their asses and take less money 'not' to play with Kobe*

Wow...even though we knew it was coming....I find it somewhat unsettling considering the fact that Kobe readily admitted he was trying to encourage him to come back...then there was the bill board promotion...tough times ahead for the Lakers...another prime example of players not being able to tolerate Kobe's foolishness....he cost them a dynasty by chasing Shaq and Phil out of LA....and he now may have cost them a playoff spot next year...they had better hope Portland does not improve....as none of the other contenders like Rockets, GS,Clippers and Spurs will regress...those teams are going forward...if Dallas gets Dwight...they are finished.....the season will be a write off...

Starting to look like 04/05/06 here.....with Kobe foolishly believing he could win it all by himself....fitting D'Antoni is the coach now considering it was his fast paced system that chased them out of the playoffs back to back in 06/07.....and that very same system is what is chasing Dwight out of town....the irony is not lost....lol

            completely agree Menses..
Kobe has cost the Lakers so much and only really delivered a single Championship/
(i don't count the Celtic one.. 20 FTs in the 4th Qtr alone// Kobe 6-24 shooting in a Game 7)

if Kobe did not insist on being top dog, he could have played along until Shaq gracefully became no.2 and Kobe No.1..

he really went about it in such a fashion, that it was almost a political coup, as the previous President was ousted rather than lost by election.
Which is most ironic, because the die-hard Kobe-fans are very militant in their support, if anyone should challenge the regime, they become violently abusive in their posts. Very totalitarian support.

When victory comes, it was "all-Kobe" against "insurmountable odds" 1-on-5

when the inevitable loss occurs.. all of his teammates 'failed' Kobe.. (30 pts on 40 attempts was not enough)

If Kobe is able to live with No.2 for just a few yrs, with Shaq, they win 7 together instead of 3.
Then Lakers attract more talent, maybe 1 or 2 more.. he coulda finished with 8-9 Rings.
but now, very talented FAs will not come, because they witnessed how Howard was treated, and they know,
that their career stats would take a huge hit averaging less than 10 pts. a game.

Kobe controls all the media, and the fans.. even when he is out, he is tweeting the very 'opposite' of what he did.. "post, post, post".. he never passed to Howard.. shot it 90% of the time..

anyways.. it's all over now, Howard is walking, Lakers get nothing in return..
Nobody good joining the Lakers, and they don't have the cash anyways..

just as Joseph did, i am predicting 7 yrs of famine (7 Lean Cows ate the 7 Fat Cows) that the Pharaoh saw in his dream

            Amen to that.

The Lakers will return in another 5 to six years.....they will not sniff a championship however while Lebron, Rose and Durant are still in the league...and may never see another division title as long as the Clippers continue to improve....The league willl eventually fix the draft lottery or magically land them a trade that will allow them get a top tier player..perhaps a Parker or Wiggins if they do indeed pan out...somewhere down the line...The Lakers are afterall....the leading man in a Sopa Opera, the script is always written for them........but make no mistake for the time being...they are indeed going on a vacation until further notice....Steve Nash should have never signed in LA...he might as well have retired a raptor...like he was supposed to....

Now if Buss had any common sense...and truly wanted to compete....he would take Cuban's advice and amnesty Kobe...Trade Dwight for Bosh or Griffin...Sign Iguadala...and Monte Ellis...and then throw 35 a year at Lebron...in 2014....and see where the chips fall....but in all likelyhood they will rely on the big trade...or start from scratch....

For all we know Dwight could change his mind...or maybe its all a ploy to send D'Antoni out the door....ala Van Gundy...but clearly, he does not like his environment....Dwight is rumored to have over 6 children...by several different women. He needs a major contract...to fulfill all that child support...and maintain his own extravagant lifestyle...and yet he is willing to leave 30 mill on the table just to get out of LA.....I blame the fans and the ex lakers as well for riding him knowing damn well he was hurt....and came back far too early from back surgery just to please Kobe.....Jerry Buss made the mistake of allowing Kobe to bully him and Shaq out of LA and it cost them at least 2 more rings....now the idiot son is in charge and ...is about to make the same mistake....history repeats itself.....and nobody notices....

Rat is a Dbag.. I think its hilarious how he takes away all of Kobe's rings and limits him to 1 due to this and that.. lol classic!

I guess by that rational we can take away Lebron's since after all if Ray Allen misses that shot no ring for the queen. Wait also Lebron had a shortened season the first ring he won, so I mean we might as well take away that ring as well. So that leaves Lebron with zero and Kobe with 1.. hmm Kobe still on top! Stupid f U c k

                    you can't compare

                    Kobe's 6-of-24 FG Game 7 (.250)

                    Lebron 12-23 FG Game 7 (.521)

the former is a MASSIVE choke.
the latter is coming through HUGE..

Lebron is MILES ahead of Kobe..

                    1 League MVP in 17 yrs. (.058)

•• Ray Allen took $7M paycut to play WITH Lebron..

•• Dwight Howard takes $20M+ pay cut NOT*to play with Kobe.

Kobe is irrelevant now. he will never see the playoffs again, and will play 2-3 year more, possibly 4.

Kobe Bryant is a Free Agent CANCER.

                      NOBODY coming... N-O-B-O-D-Y.

they won't go there and kill their stats. why would they?!

EVEN Kobe's PARENTS hate him. wow

Thank you, Menses.. i thought less... YOUCH...

it really is incredible how people can't stand Kobe... Shaq left (willing to leave instead of fight to stay)
                          jackson split, (too much BS)

Even BOTH of his parents stated together "our son is a liar" (during recent lawsuit)

it is not uncommon for a child to have a problem with one parent.
when the child has a problem with BOTH parents.. it is usually the child.

Unless both parents are total homeless crackheads.. it's Kobe.

this dude is a real piece of work... doomed to solitude now.

Actually I think it is tougher to win in a compressed season, with all those back to backs and 1 or 2 back to back to backs. Easier to get injured and throttle back because of all the games played in short amount of time. Regular season is just about playoff positioning, no matter how many games are played.

Last time I checked, the playoffs that season were the normal length. That's all that really matters.

                              Continue on...

Smush Parker responded at length to Kobe Bryanton Thursday, defending his credentials as a basketball player while saying

that Kobe was a bad teammate who never made him feel welcome on the Lakers.
Bryant ripped Parker and some other former Lakers

teammates in some unprompted comments on Wednesday.
Parker joined Hard 2 Guard Radio Thursday to address Kobe’s

                                          comments.
The former Laker shared plenty of stories, and says he went wrong because he didn’t bow down to Kobe. He says he even

stopped passing Bryant the ball during his second season on the team.
Parker played in China the last two seasons and says he’s

preparing for another season there in December. What was his response to Kobe bringing up his name on Wednesday?
                                          “I’m lost for

words. It makes me blush. For my name to still come out of that man’s mouth? It makes me blush,” he told Hard 2 Guard.
                                          Parker

says he values his two seasons playing with the Lakers (from 2005-2007), but not his time playing with Bryant.
                                          “The two years in LA

were a blessing to me,” he said. “People who ask me how it was playing for the Los Angeles Lakers. People ask me how it was playing

with Kobe Bryant. I said in 2008 that it was an overrated experience.”
Though Parker termed playing with Kobe “overrated,” he

respects the five-time champion’s game. He just doesn’t like his personality.
“You can’t knock the man’s legacy, you can’t knock what

he’s done in basketball. His work ethic is tremendous. There’s not an ounce of hate in my blood whatsoever. The guy can play

basketball — you’ve seen that throughout his career.
What I don’t like about him is the man that he is. His personality. How he

treats people. I don’t like that side of Kobe Bryant.“Basketball is a team sport. It is team-oriented. It is not an individual sport. It’s

not tennis or golf, it is a team sport. When you are the star of the team, you have to make your teammates feel comfortable. You have

to make them feel welcome. And he did not do that at all
.”Though Kobe said Parker didn’t deserve to be in the NBA, Parker says he

earned a spot on the Lakers. That didn’t matter to Kobe, who he says completely disrespected him.
“I had a workout with the Lakers,

beat all the guards out for the starting position, earned a spot on the team. Midway through the first season, I tried to at least have a

conversation with Kobe Bryant — he is my teammate, he is a co-worker of mine, I see his face every day I go in to work — and
                                          I tried

to talk with him about football. He tells me I can’t talk to him. He tells me I need more accolades under my belt before I come talk to

                                          him. He was dead serious.”
Smush says the talking they did was strictly on the court.“We’re teammates, we talk basketball on the

court. [Our talks were] about getting him the ball pretty much
.”Parker described Kobe as someone who kept to himself. He says

while he was on the Lakers,
he never saw Kobe make an attempt to develop any kind of friendship with any one of his

teammates.“On road trips, he traveled with his security guards. Those were the guys he talked to. On the team plane, he sat in the

back of the plane by himself
.”Parker even told a story about a time when the team was in Phoenix preparing for a playoff series

against the Suns. Smush says that coach Phil Jackson gave Lamar Odom his black card to take the team out to a nice dinner as a

                                          bonding experience.
Parker says the entire team sat at one table, and that Kobe Bryant had his own table in a corner.Recalling the

memories prompted Parker to mention the nickname he has for the team: the Los Angeles Bryants.
                                          “Whenever Kobe is happy, the

Lakers are happy. Whenever Kobe smiles, the team smiles. They should be the Los Angeles Bryants.”
Parker says he wasn’t a good fit

on the team because he didn’t idolize Kobe the way he was supposed to. He even says he stopped passing Bryant the ball on

                                          purpose.
“The reason I wasn’t a Laker after my second year is because I didn’t bow down to [Kobe]. I didn’t kiss his a–. I wasn’t

kissing his feet. Quite frankly, towards the end of the second season, I stopped passing him the ball. I stopped giving him the ball. I

                                          started looking him off.”
Parker was asked about how that worked within the context of the triangle offense, and he says it wasn’t a

                                          bad thing.
“The triangle is a team-oriented offense. If the triangle is run to perfection, everybody on the court can score an easy 15

                                          points a game
.“Kobe Bryant says I’m the worst point guard, that I should have never made it into the NBA — he just frowns at the

thought of me playing in the back court with him. Like Jay-Z says, people lie, numbers don’t. Just go to the stats.
                                          “If I don’t deserve

to play in the NBA, why am I third on all the stat sheets on the Lakers team those years? I’m top three in all the categories.”
                                          A check

of the stats shows that Parker was third on the team in points and assists, and second on the team in steals and three pointers made

in the ’05-’06 season. He was fourth in points and assists in ’06-’07, second in three-pointers, and led the team in steals.
                                          Parker also

wanted to defend his character in light of his reputation as a bad guy.
He calls himself a “misunderstood player” who loves

basketball. He says he displays the same kind of passion that star players show, but that there is a double-standard. Parker says stars

are complimented for playing with passion, but if a lesser player shows that type of emotion, he is labeled as a player with a bad

                                          attitude.
He also said the 2007 incident with the parking attendant was b.s and an extortion attempt.Parker says he paid the valet the

night before to keep his car up front so that it would be there in the morning for him to get to practice on time without having to

wait. He says when he went for his car in the morning, they didn’t have a recollection of his deal from the night before and that he

had to pay. He says he went to grab the keys out of the attendant’s hand, and that that was the only contact that was made between

                                          them.
“The next day she’s on the city hall steps with her arm in a sling and a neck brace saying I dragged her through the parking

lot,” he says of the allegations.
Parker says both their statements in the police report corroborate his story, and that she only changed

her tune after learning he was a player.
Smush says he loved playing for Phil Jackson, calling him a “great motivator,” and saying “I

couldn’t have played for a better coach.”
He was reluctant to answer many questions during his interview with Hard 2 Guard because

he stressed he didn’t want to be involved in negative conversations. He actually sounded quite mature throughout the interview, and

talked about his excitement about being a father.
Parker says playing in China has been a great experience, and that it allows him to

do two things he loves: travel and play basketball.
Even if Lakers fans don’t have fond memories of Smush Parker, it’s hard not to at

least respect him after hearing his interview.

that article speaks volumes about what kind of individual Kobe Bryant is, and how limited his game is as a result.
It is hard to excel at work when an environment feels socially hostile..

I have always said that basketball was the wrong sport for him.. he would have been best at tennis, i think..
tremendous speed, reach, aim, coordination.. if Kobe had played tennis his entire life..

he could have been one of the best ever.. (tennis)

but as a team player-- what a nightmare..

he continually needs to set himself apart and above.. it never ends..
                                              not during practice,
                                              not during team dinners,
                                              not on planes..
                                              nowhere.. and never

who needs it..? that is why the Lakers are doomed,
and why he ultimately cost the Lakers 4-5 extra Championships.

if Kobe Bryant had been a cool camper,
the Lakers would now be ahead of Boston on the All-Time list for Championships.*

Bulls won't win a title with that cast. Rose won't win a title as the only superstar on the team. He is no Lebron or Dwade (2006) or Bryant -- i.e. good enough to put a team on his back with no other star. Deng is a very good play and Noah is solid. They need another all-sar at the least to compete with Miami.

I do agree that Rose supporting cast is questionable at times...but lest we forget...their scrubs took Miami twice this year....you put a healthy Rose in that mix...with a healthy starting squad..ie Deng and Heinrich...and things may get real interesting.....I love Miami and hope to god they repeat to piss off the naysayers...but the Pacers and Bulls are going to be a serious problem this year....there is no getting around it.....maybe the heat get Oden...to off set this a bit...

                                                                    that RT is hilariously nutty
