i think sweeping is worse, but that is just imo..

the Spurs swept Rounds 1 and 2 last year.. then won first two from OKC...

and when they finally lost.. they lost 4 straight..

I think sweeping is worse because you have too much time off which throws the rhythm and momentum off of your team. Remember in last year's World Series? Everyone was saying how can the Giants beat the Tigers who have been dominant in this World Series after sweeping the Yankees blah blah blah.. and then the Giants swept the Tigers I'm not saying that Heat/Pacers will sweep the spurs, but I don't really think this layoff helps them as much as most think (helps with injuries, rest, etc)

i agree 100%sweeping is the kiss of death... so hard to not to go for the win, when in reach..but teams that sweep... early, are dead later.. they just go to sleep it seems..like going to bed, and waking up an hour after you do

Sweeping or 7 games don't matter. The better team will win in a 7 gm series.

its not even a question. a sweep in the west finals is saying something. the extra games wears on the players quite a bit

it is a drag but in spurs case its a blessing, they are old and need all the rest they can get

and if in the first game the heat are a bit sore that will balance things out a bit if spurs are a bit cold

and they will be playing in miami so its not that bad, even if they lose the first game then they get a really good chance steal homecourt advantage in the second game


miami is not a superteam, people keep forgetting that, they may point to their record but they are playing in a league full of d-league teams. now that superstars are pilling up on a handfull of teams then that just leaves the rest flailing and at the mersy of the pile-on teams

and you are forgetting that miami eliminated a bad bucks team and a bulls team with a bunch of injuries and without its best player

they are now playing a half decent team and they are struggling, they could easily be down 3-1 and facing elimination
