    Memphis Missing Rudy Gay
Say what you want, but these guys are missing Rudy Gay right now. They have no perimeter offense outside of Mike Conley.

I know they've made it this far without him, but they beat a beat up Clippers team, and a Westbrookless Thunder team.

You can have all the inside game you want, but down the stretch, you need a perimeter guy.

I can't believe how bad San Antonio is making them look. They have made a few really bad defensive mistakes down the stretch too.

At least the first half cashed. I didn't like what I saw from them in the first half but didn't hedge, too bad for me.

        Agreed.

It's funny how Brooks and Del Negro made Hollins look good initially.

Agreed, Hollins sucks. But in the end, the players are the ones on the court, and they win or lose games for you. Grizz were just very limited offensively when the game gets tight and you need a big bucket. There is a reason why we see game winners from guys like Kobe, MJ, LeBron, KD and not Shaq, Dwight Howard, etc. When the game is on the line, the ball needs to be in the hands of a ball handler. Gasol and Zbo are as good as it gets upfront, but they won't be taking the big shot.

I wonder what the game 4 line will be.

Memphis are the "theoretical" play to avoid the sweep but man have the Spurs schooled them in this series.

It looks like they miss him but they really don't. If he was still on the roster they would of lost to the Clippers. Gay took a lot of bad shots and the Griz don't have to worry about giving up long rebounds and easy fast break points anymore. Plus his departure gave ZBO and Gasol more touches which was big vs the Clippers and Thunder. The Spurs are just the better team.

You might be right, but with Rudy Gay on this team, I highly doubt they are down 0-3. Regardless if Gay is the answer or not, they need to get a legit perimeter player this offseason. Package Arthur or Ed Davis along with one of the wings (Prince, Pondexter, Bayless, Allen) for a good wing.

People forget that they also gave up Speights and Ellington in that trade too. Both were very productive players off the bench.

they will not get a good wing, they had one and they let him go because a good wing wants to be the star and zbo and gasol want to be the star. It doesnt work, they need to find young guys to fill in the spot and hope for the best. No good wing player wants to play in an offense that focuses around conley dribbling and dumping it down low

Paul George on Indiana. Indiana is an inside team yet he is still the star on that team.

Imagine the Pacers without Paul George. Doubt they'd be tied up 1-1 with Miami right now. Whether or not Gay is the answer, you have to have a perimeter option on offense.

I know it looks like they could use Rudy Gay, but I still don't think they win this series with him. Memphis was overhyped from the first 2 rounds and were exposed this series. They played a pretty bad LAC team and an OKC team without Westbrook. Even the players OKC did have, they all underperformed and Memphis still had to grind out those wins. Rudy Gay may have improved their chances, as it would have taken pressure off Randolph maybe and free'd him up, but there's no way they win this series even with Gay. Gay, just like the Memphis team, is very overrated as well, as he is basically a glorified chucker.

I know they made the trade to clear up cap space, but you think they could get more in return for Gay, Speights and Ellington. They basically gave up their best perimeter player and two rotational players for a washed up Tayshaun Prince. Ed Davis is a nice player, but why even trade for him? They were already stacked upfront, which is exactly why he doesn't see the court.

they trade him away for salary cap purposes. Memphis is a small market team and would of been hit hard under the new luxury tax

Kawhi Leonard is a good player, but I think they need a better isolation scorer....I'm trying to think of a good piece. I think Paul George would fit with Memphis just like he does with Indiana as Speedy said. Come to think of it, I'm thinking of the wing players in the league and there really aren't many options. Rudy Gay is probably the next best SF in the league after Lebron, Durant, Melo, and Paul George. A guy like James Harden would be good for them, but that's not really attainable.

If the grizz pull down kevin martin this summer I can see them winning it all next season especially if they keep tayshaun. that way they can stop with those horse shit 1-2 combo of both conley and bayless. bayless does not deserve those minutes at all.

paul george does not fit into this comparison
PG is a defensive and all-around player,
he is not a great scorer and is inconsistent
