There's really no excuse for how this team is playing. They look absolutely lost out there.
Scott Brooks is getting exposed. Period.

OKC just sucks without Westbrook. People can try to break it down, but they are pretty much a clone of the Knicks right now. One really good player with a bunch of garbage surrounding him.

Brooks had more NBA talent in Durant-Westbrook-Harden than most coaches have in their entire coaching career so they got by on that. Things look way different when 2 out of those 3 are gone.

Agreed. This is the worst I've seen them play all season. They're totally stinking up the joint.
The offense is atrocious. Perkins can't do anything so it's as if it wasn't hard enough to score against Memphis, it's like 4 on 5 out there.
Everyone on OKC is standing around while Durant gets doubled team and forces shots. Pretty pathetic performance considering OKC could have easily won both games in Memphis.
The crowd is out of it as well. It looks like there might not be much time left in the Thunder's season.

Presti is regarded as a top GM but he gave Perkins $36 million. Nothing can justify that.

I'm not expecting them to necessarily win this series without him, but good grief, at least pretend like you want to keep your season alive.

And yes, Brooks is getting exposed. They look clueless on offense. Why not run some offball screens for Durant and Martin?
Perkins is also trash. He shouldn't be starting for any NBA team. If there was one series for Perkins to come up big in, it would be against Memphis. And he is still stinking up the joint.
Hate to rip Sam Presti because he is still one of the better GM's, but getting rid of Jeff Green and Harden and only getting Martin and Perkins looks really bad now. Not saying they should have kept Green and Harden, but they should/could have gotten a lot more in return for those guys.

This series is pretty even. It's just bad coaching that's losing them these games. Hero ball rarely wins games.

Grizzlies offense is very patient and smooth. Thunder offense is a clusterfuckk of Durant getting double teamed, Perkins missing layups, and Ibaka and Fisher jacking up desperation shots.

Green would have been the guy they probably could have held onto. I was really high on him the first year the THunder were here.
Anyway, the offense is horrible. Memphis is already a great defensive team but when you have a liability in Perkins out there that they don't even have to guard, you can't win playing 4 on 5.
OKC isn't even taking good shots. They're all forced and rushed.
I actually agree with Barkely for the first time ever. "Scott Brooks has the worst game plan ever! Durant can't score with three defenders draped on him. Come on man!"
Couldn't have said it better.

Hero ball wins a lot when you have two top 10 players on the court.
Not now though.

They were not going to beat Miami even with Westbrook and possibly not even won the West. Should have kept the beard for one thing!

Durant could have drove and dropped off a pass for easy layup. Another mistake down the stretch by coach and best player.

He just drove to the basket a play before and dropped it off for an easy layup. Lebron would have dished it.

Big D you think Durant will ever leave OKC? I think he is a FA in a couple years.

No but to be honest, I think losing Westbrook hurts this team more than losing Durant would have been.
That doesn't mean Westbrook is a better player but he is 110% uptempo all game and breaks the defense down and hits people for wide open shots. Without him, every shot is contested and Durant is the only guy that can create a shot but creating a shot is hard when you're double teamed.
Durant and Westbrook will be here a while but OKC needs another guy that can create their own shot. Martin isn't that guy.

What about drafting? Myck Kabongo? Jamaal Franklin? Tim Hardaway Jr?
