Melo shooting too much.. Knicks likely doomed vs. Balanced Scoring (Ind.)
    Boxscore:

    1) Knicks had 6 less Turnovers than the Pacers (so it's not that)

    2) *the three top shooters for Indy are all within three shots each another

PACERS: Top Three Shooters (46 shots)

    Hill 5-17
    George 5-14
    West 8-15

    Knicks:*Top Three Shooters (55 shots)

    'Melo 10-28
    JR Smith 4-15
    Felton 8-12

Melo is almost double the next player (Smith) and more than double*the third shooting leader (Felton)..

with this method.. two of the top three guys must to be ON... to win

with the Balanced Scoring method (similar to Popovich in SA)
only one has to be ON...*the rest can be made up by other bench men..

note that Hill and George were both OFF and they still won.. (IND)
(bench able to make it up deficit)_

also note that**two of top three OFF for NYK,*and bench was able to make up the deficit..

EXTRA NINE SHOTS TAKEN by NYK top three,,..
if those taken by the bench.. and four of them are made.. Knicks win by two.

** i know you can't break things down coldly and that numbers are not playing the games.. but too many shots by cold men, only magnifies weakness.

Loss is on Melo, and coach for not correcting it.

They should hire JVG back as coach. Guy was spot on when he said in the 1st Q Knicks couldn't fall in love with Melo/JR isos if they wanted to win.

i heard that, and i was like.. wow, he's calling guys out before they screw up .

no way to win unless you are on fire. impossible to sustain being on fire for an entire series.

it's a poor and indulgent game plan.

Melo must learn when to shoot and when to pass....unfortunately of all the guys in the 2003 draft class (Wade, Bron, Bosh etc) he has yet to learn this fundamental skill....He is still playing highschool ball. When he is on....un-guardable...when he is off....(See Lakers)......The funny thing is....if melo adjusts...and the bench knock down 3's.....they can destroy both indiana and miami....but again...this is highly dependent on whether or not they shoot a high percentage....

Melo = over-rated. He's not even worth criticizing. I use to think why he never gets any pressure to win something, like how LeBron/Kobe/Durant and those guys do. But then u see why...he's really just a streaky-jump shooter at best. Barely an average defender. He actually does have some post moves but it doesn't mean anything because he never utilizes it - its all about jump shots for him. And he's not a play-maker so can't expect that from him.

He's never gonna lead a team to a title, let alone a finals so the best thing in his career would likely be when he becomes a 6th man in a championship caliber team later on in his career and could have a chance at getting a ring that way.

                and Shumbert takes 0 shots..?!?!

somebody explain to me how team leader does not make sure that Shumbert gets the ball..?!

a great leader gets the win any way possible.. follow path of least resistance.

                insane.*

Shumpert got hot, but come on, you want your go-to guy in the 4th quarter of a playoff game to be Iman Shumpert? Please. He should be taken wide open threes and that's about it.

strongly disagree. miracles are 'not' reserved for big salaries alone.

if a guy is having a fairy tale/story-book evening... game of a lifetime... let him have it..

if a this kid is draining 3 after 3 after 3... why would you stop that..?

they only got back IN the game because of Shumbert's 3-pointers..*

Tom Brady vs. Drew Bledsoe... Tom Brady played and won the Superbowl in his 11th or 12th game as a pro starter.
lot of people were shocked Belichik kept Bledsoe on sideline.

I don't mean don't let Shumpert shoot the ball, I mean you don't run plays for Iman Shumpert in the 4th quarter of a playoff game. If his shots come in the flow of the offense/ball movement, then by all means if he's feeling it let him shoot, but you can't actually make him your go-to guy.

the guy is a fat vegetarian that will never win until he drops that diet. Most people dont realize this but cholesterol is a very vital nutrient, specifically for brain function. Most of the brain is made of cholesterol. Its quite obvious to me why he makes such stupid basketball plays.

people don't play these angles because they don't have this knowledge but I am on a penetrating killing spree since I put this injury/diet factor into the equation. Took a 100% profit in fantasy football last year and every year since I play I seemingly double my profits from the past year

I guess you could make a case for it, I'm not saying isolate Carmelo on every possession, but you still have to run a lot of your offense through him.
