        what an idiotic thread title.

as if the executives at espn didn't know his thoughts on the issue when they allowed him to spout off.

you are an awful poster, and the OP could not be more ignorant or off base.

on the contrary to what you said, it is completely absurd if Broussard gets fired because I can all but guarantee you the powers that be at the network knew his thoughts beforehand.

they may have known him to be conservative... but taking a staunchly Republican position on this:

calling it "Rebellion against GOD"... "Sinful lifestyle".... is WAY OVER THE LINE...
          *
if he works for ESPN, he represents them, and needs to filter out his personal views...
there are PLENTY of viewers out there that do not agree with his comments..

I expect ESPN to reprimand him somehow

            2. Don't forget who owns ESPN and ABC. Disney. Disney corp will have the final say on what happens to Broussard.

my point is that those words are expected from a Bible Belt Televangelist..

not a sports commentator... if he thinks gays have no place in team sports..

maybe he should understand that his "personal condemnations" have no place in sports commentary.*

What he should have said is something like "I respect his decision to come out whether I agree with it or not" and just move on... the fact that he made it a point to say shit like "rebellion to god" etc. has nothing to do with sports and everything to do with his personal agenda beyond the question.

Funny how someone can give their own personal Christian views and you get idiots saying "ESPN do the right thing and fire him*"... but when someone gives their own personal views that homosexuality should be allowed and accepted, they are applauded. Collins can come out gay and Broussard can say he's living in sin. Both are entitled to give their own opinion without having to worry about being fired or harassed.

It's hard to give people a brain through an internet post, but i'll try.

Was broussard asked "What are your CHRISTIAN beliefs on this matter?" or did he choose to spew his agenda?

If I were to go on TV and say "it's wrong to be black. you will go to hell for being black" it would sound absolutely ridiculous, right? Maybe a little "racist" even? Maybe not 100 years ago, but today yes of course it would

And to the argument of "It's not the same thing. You're born black, you're not born gay". Tell that to the two male puppies I saw humping eachother the other day. Did the puppies turn on some "liberal califonrian television show" and be like "hey lets be gay!"?

hmm.. almost a cogent point. Somebody missed their calling as a bad trial lawyer.

but i do believe that "public bigotry" crosses the line... this is not a book that he published, where one has to purchase, and take time to read. this is not the pulpit of his dinner table. He's on TV stating this these choices are evil and sinful. Crosses line.

i said nothing about his personal vision of law and order.*
(which clearly is "be like me/us" or "if you are not like us, you are sinful")

ESPN then silently supports this form of bigotry if they continue to employ Broussard..
He's allowed to do it.. he's allowed to think and feel anything,*
this is not an Orwellian future we live in.

Collins came out as gay.. he made NO attack/comment on that type of heterosexuality being inferior/sinful, he did not mention or another form of sex at all. That would be inappropriate. He just came out. No biggie, grown man, sleeping with other grown men. Not sinful/criminal. Broussard came out like it was criminality/

speaking for God is really arrogant and stupid. Christ would never attack homosexuality.

He was asked his opinion and gave an honest answer, how is that his fault? It was ESPN's fault for taking the discussion in that direction. He shouldn't/won't get fired!

yep, like i said.. cheap trial lawyer.

your entire focus is on lexical semantics, and loopholes..
rather than the indecency behind a bigoted diatribe..

it is not for Broussard to judge and condemn the actions of another that is breaking no earthly laws.*
Of course you are going to counter by indicating that i am judging and condemning Broussard (who is as well breaking no law)

However, prejudice creates many problems. Open a history book.

I suppose we can expect to see you defending the Grand Master at a KKK rally..
holding the Declaration of Independence in one hand and the Bill of Rights in the other.

Brouss-ass-wipe is quoting from the Bible as though it were Constitutional Law.
Many people don't read. but watch plenty of Television.

These people just hear the words "In the Bible" and react and behave as though it were all facts,
                                  without symbolism or metaphor.

I really do not think it is in the best interest of ESPN to employ individuals with such archaic and limited views of the world and future.

                                  would not be surprised one bit if he gets canned.;
