In response to this, I don't care if you believe my record or not. People who have been following me know how I'm doing.
Also, you say you want to challenge me, what would we win....fake money. Let's even say we bet for real money, best record won like $500, how would the loser pay???

    On to important stuff now.

    NBA yesterday I was 1-1-1
    College I was 1-0
    NFL 0-1
    Bowl games 1-2

Not the greatest of days, but I did do good for Basketball which is my specialty, so I'll have all my picks here for the day starting first with NFL.

    NFL
SF -5. SF really hasn't played bad as of late. Winning 2 out of 3 with the loss being to Miami. They played Miami well only losing 14-9. If they could get a TD instead of a FG, they could have won that game. St. Louis is just awful. I don't know how they are playing so bad right now, but all that means is that their a team to be against. SF only by 5 on the road, that seems like a good line.

Hou -7 Oak is terrible again this year. Houston on the other hand is playing playoff caliber football, too bad it's too late for them. They have won 4 games in a row. It should have been 5 but they collapse in the 4th quarter against Indy and turned the ball over 3 times in 5 minutes. Again, Houston is on the road, but Oakland at home isn't special at all. Houston continues their hot streak and rolls.

Cin +3 Cleveland is at home, so that's why they are 3 point favorite, but they have absolutely no offense right now. Playing with a 3rd stringer and no solid RB can kill them. O yeah, a terrible defense. Cincy isn't that good either, but they at least have an offense that can move the ball pretty well at times. You need an upset and this is a great spot for that.

Mia -3.5 (But half Point) to -3 Miami needs this for the playoff. KC plays tough at home at times, but Miami right now is playing for too much. All Miami can do is win and then they need some help, but first they must win. Losing means they are out of playoffs, so I expect them to do it.

I just realized I picked 4 road teams. O well

Bowl Game- Nothing really special tonight. No play

NBA ATL -5. At home, they just played the best team in maybe the history of the NBA and had the lead most of the way. A clutch KG who shot 100% in the 4th quarter killed them, but they only lost by 3. That's a great game for Atlanta who always seems to play Boston tough. That was only their 2nd Home loss of the season. Now, they are rested and again playing at home to a Detroit team who is all over the place. They are playing inconsistent BBALL w/ AI on the court. Plus, they just played a double OT game two nights ago and now on the road. I think ATL will win and maybe barely cover winning by about 7-9 points.

Cle -13 OK CITY just broke thier losing streak beating Toronto. Now, they will start another losing streak playing Cleveland. I said this on Friday betting Cle over Denver, that I will continue to bet them until they lose or don't cover. They have been playing light out the past few weeks and again until someone beats them, I will bet them. On the road and giving 13, fine by me.

    NCAAB.....NA

    So Plays for the day
    NFL
    SF -5 (Small to Middle)
    Hou -7 (Normal)
    Cin +3 (Small to Middle)
    Mia -3 (Middle to big)

    NBA
    Atl -5 (Normal)
    Cle -13 (Big Play)

    GOOD LUCK FOR THE DAY

AND FOR THAT GUY CALLING ME OUT

even if you were putting up a fake record which i don't think ur who cares its the persons responsible to make their own judgement, then make picks on their own

You're going to have a good day today.

I didn't play the early games in NFL, but I was with you on Atlanta. I nailed the1Q, 2nd half under, and the game.

            What I got left...
            Houston -6.5
            Philly -4
            Cavs -11 (bought)
            Atlanta +3

Well, … the city of Atlanta is the only one that came through on every level thus far today. The other cities… they were pathetic – dismal.

                Hawks -4 - Won
                Hawks/Pistons Over 46.5 1Q - Won
                Hawks/Pistons Under 95 2nd Half - Won
                Falcons +3 - Won
                Falcons +4 2nd Half - Won

                Houston -6.5 – Got Crushed
                Philly -4 - Pathetic

                Cavs/Oak - Over 49 1stQ – Pending…
                Cavs -11 - Pending…
                Giants -3 - Pending…
                Troy -3 - Pending…

Sam I took the Cavs too so hopefully we both win that one. Troy is the play tonight with NCAAF. I had a biased opinion with the Memphis game and screwed up my capping. But tonight Troy will win hands down. Southern Miss is horrendous against the pass and Troy's spread offense is great. Southern Miss did end on a hot streak, but Troy wins this by 10. Good luck to you. I'm looking at a damn good day so far in NFL. Finally after starting off 0-3. Losing cuz of a shitty fourth quarter by Jacksonville on my first posted NFL pick. But thats gambling. Gotta pick up the pieces and move to the next game. I have the CAVS and under for the NBA game right now. Here were all my picks for the day.

                    NCAAF
                    5* - Troy -4

                    NCAAB
                    2* - Miami Hurricanes -2

                    NBA
                    3* - Cleveland Cavs -12
                    3* - Cleveland/Oklahoma U195

                    NFL
                    5* - San Diego Chargers +4
                    3* - New England Patriots -8
                    3* - New York Giants -3
                    3* - New Orleans Saints
                    3* - New York Jets -3
                    2* - Pittsburgh Steelers -1
                    2* - Atlanta Falcons +3

                    Rating Scale
                    1* = 1 unit
                    2* = 2 units
                    3* = 3 units
                    4* = 4 units
                    5* = 5 units

                    Overall Record: 20-17-1 (0 units)

Hey sam, I'd suggest posting your picks in the best bets thread every day so they're being somewhat moderated. I'm not doubting you at all but that way if someone wants to "call you out" they can take the time and go back and do the math first.

This is why I buy hooks and full points. Buying full points and hooks saved me 4 times this week alone. I determine my own spread so the linemakers don't control the situation. I had the Cav -11 so I pushed. However, I placed a halftime wager on Oklohoma City @ +7 for a small play just in case and lucky hit that. You'll getem' tomorrow Sam.

Just curious Spoon, but which sportsbook do you play at? How much did moving the line 2 points to cleveland cost you? Is there a limit to how many points you can buy? ie. could I have taken CLE -4?

Sometimes I dont like the moneyline because the odds are so poor, but dont like the pointspread because the number is too high and its likely the spread will be decided by who plays better in garbage time. So something in between might be better =)

Sometimes I dont like the moneyline because the odds are so poor, but dont like the pointspread because the number is too high and its likely the spread will be decided by who plays better in garbage time. So something in between might be better =)
The majority of my wagers are played on BetJam now. I buy full points when the spread for the game is too close for my comfort after I cap and compare it to the actual spread. Buying 2 full points is not common practice for me, but in the Cleveland it was something I needed to do. The game after the buy was -150 opposed to -110. Of course I needed to lay down a lot more money to see a decent return if I won since there’s not much value there, but receiving any money at all instead of a loss is obviously important too and some people are too greedy to understand that fact. I saved myself a lot of money this week doing this 4 other times and I pushed in the Detroit game 2 weeks ago because I bought 2 points as well.

Usually the limit for buying points is 3 and it’s not even worth buying it down to 3 at that point – tease it. If you wanted it down to -4 you would have to have a serious teaser and reply on other games which is a much higher risk. Sometimes just stay away from the game to save the stress.

Half points are enough.. You just need to jump on the spread early..

Half points are not always enough if you really want to lay money on a partuclar team and the spread does not seem reachable. As you see in this example, I pushed on the Cleveland game while so many others lost outright unfortunately. Would the half pointed have helped me win this game - no. In addition, jumping on the spread early is not always going to work either. Regardless how early you jumped on the Cavs spread you would have lost because it was never -11.
