Exactly...and particularly with Utah surrendering their spot, Lakers know the worse thing they will end up with is an 8th seed - playoffs is a guarantee pretty much at this point cuz Jazz have already stated they're not interested. Its only natural for Lakers to slack just a bit and lose games like this from time to time.

Its not like they're losing on purpose, but this team has to put in 200% every night to win a game and its hard to bring that kind of effort consistently. I think Lakers will continue strolling through the season and just win enough games to get them in the playoffs - I really don't expect them to go on some streak and run teams over.
