Just curious since they're going to suddenly turn it on and make a run in the playoffs.

Well they got Thunder next, pretty much an obv loss IMO. But after that, they have several easy opponents.

The main question isn't about Lakers here - because I think they will actually win most, if not all, of the 'should win' games from now till the end. They are good enuf to do so.

The question is which of the idiot teams will gift them their spot, Utah, Houston or Golden State. I think many of us were concerned about Lakers, and still are, and how they're gonna win this game that game, but the bigger picture here is can any of those 3 teams actually hold their spots - and I seriously don't think they all will.

LA just needs to play how they've been playing picking up victories over shitty teams and I think that's good enuf to grab the 8th seed.

I think the Warriors will be the team to gift them a spot. Their coach sucks and they're already imploding. Houston will barely get in. Utah will also barely get in.

      Just my two cents.

I'm pretty sure OKC will get a #2 seed so the Lakers will probably face the Spurs. The Spurs just lost as a #1 seed two years ago so who knows.

The most interesting part will be as the season closes and when it does become apparent that Lakers are going to grab the 8th spot, will OKC or Spurs purposely tank the #1 seed to avoid them 1st round?

Even though its hard to say at this point if they could beat either of those two (esp OKC), I'm certain both the coaches/teams do not want to play Lakers 1st round.

OKC has won like 10 of 12 against LA and LA hasn't won in OKC in two years. I'm fine with the matchup.

LA plays no defense and can't outscore OKC and they also can't win a 7 game series against OKC in which they don't have home court.

Add the Lakers to the playoffs. Subtract the mormons.

Nobody wants to watch Utah in the playoffs. And I seriously doubt OKC/Spurs would tank games to avoid the Lakers

Utah has a really tough schedule in their next few games.

In 5 or 6 games we could see the Lakers already above the Jazz IMO.

                Utah have

                @ Cleveland - toss up
                @ Chicago - loss
                @ New York - loss
                vs Detroit - win
                @ OKC - loss
                vs Memphis - toss up

Assuming they win one and lose one of the toss up games, that's 2-4 in their next 6.

                Lakers have

                @ OKC - loss
                @ New Orleans - win
                vs Toronto - win
                vs Chicago - win
                @ Orlando - win
                @ Atlanta - toss up

So IMO Lakers go 4-2 or 5-1, tying or even overtaking the Jazz.

Not sure how anyone can predict LA will win 5 of 6. I think they'll go 3-3.

They haven't proved anything to me all year.

Weren't they 25-29 before the mavs game? In that case, they've currently won 5 of 6

And possibly 6 of 7 or 7 of 8 I think they were on 2 straight wins before that game.

Lakers haven't been solid by any means but here we are. 0.5 games behind the Jazz even earlier than I expected.
