So I took a diversion from my normal routine of doing parlays and over/unders last night and did quarter bets. I went 4-0 and actually profited. What do you feel is the best bet straight up?

Game of runs, so any given 1/4 a 2-3 point dog can win outright or garbage cover.
They don`t pay these guys to win 1/4s, the pay then to win games.

i kinda like 1H bets better because you never know when a good team comes out very flat and need the first 12 minutes to readjust themselves. that means you lose your money in the first 12 minutes if they don't play like themselves.Comment -
Qtr bets are some of the trickiest in the game... lines are usually sharp as fukk.... but you do come across some once in a while that seem like free money, then other times that free money turns into a "what the fukk" festComment -
Honestly, what i'm finding is with NBA the money is with live in play betting. In every game there's a point where you're getting great value with the + spread. Most good teams come back and make a game out of it, the NBA is about swings. At one point Miami was down large to the Knicks and they came back, if you had the Heat at +12 you'd be laughing. I caution you to do your research, certain teams like the Spurs do not let up when they have a lead, so taking a team +20, or even +25 may not be good enough if that team is the Pistons...lol. But good teams like Boston, NY, Miami,Indiana, OKC, Dallas,Houston etc even if they go down double digits i think its a good bet to take the dd points live in play and expect them to make a game out of it.Comment -

It's a crap shoot, this is something that is typically decided by 1 to 2 possession more than not. If you want to bet on one NBA 1st quarter shot then go ahead, I've been burned too often on these, they aren't worth it.
Think of it yourself (if you ever play pickup basketball) at the start of the game guys just chuck up shots and hope they have it that night, once you get a guy starting off 0-3 your bet is busted, while a half or full game he could end up 10-15 and it norms out.
Moral of the story is maybe go super small on them if you like the quick return, otherwise its a wasteComment -
Yeah, but as I mentioned above this has been good for me being a Lakers homer. I go to every home game and often want to make a play just for fun. I found that taking them early was good in the long run. Lakers have a tendency to get off to strong starts then let teams back in the game. If you can find a similar pattern it can be profitable.Comment -
