Lines Are Getting Sharp...Lets Be Careful
Hey guys it seems like as the season goes on and teams contending for the playoff race the Lines seem to be getting very sharp. The point of this thread will be to locate and post lines that stick out on the board. It may not happen everyday but there will be a few games a week that will stand out where vegas wants us to bet on that team. For example I felt tonight was the Okc and Memphis game where they were begging us to take Memphis, I understand the big trade went down but still doesnt justify why that line was where it was. So people if something sticks out where you feel something is up dont hesitate to post your opinion. I will do my best job to post those lines. Thanks people and lets get that $$$

Yes and the reason for that is the better teams are completely dominating as it is crunch time for the next half of the season

LMAO at this thread. You have got to be kidding me.

Miami was only -2 and won by 20 something last night. Warriors were -1.5 and covered easily Monday. I could go on and on. I think almost every favorite has covered easily the last few days.

If anything, these lines have been a square's paradise.

Exactly. Nothing "sharp" about them. It's not like they've even been close, other than the Lakers' meltdown last night.

The totals have been even worse.

Seems to me that public plays are cashing in the lead-in to the super bowl.

Yep -- it's not like Miami had blown out Brooklyn twice already this season.

                  Oh wait, they had.

+2 made a ton of sense.

You're right: no way oddsmakers would take H2H from earlier in the season into account when setting a line.

How can you possibly justify a +2 line in that game? They were +10 at Miami and lost by 30, then +8 the second time around and lost by 13.

I never said it should've been Heat -13.

5.5 or so made sense to me.

Because home/road isn't worth 3 points, chief. It's more like 6, which is why they went from +8 at Miami to +2 at home.

What I'm saying is why weren't the previous outcomes taken into consideration when that line was released? Had Brooklyn been +8 in Miami and lost by 6-10, the +2 would make sense. Given they were blown out once and lost by 13 the second time, the line should've been around +5.

Whooooaa 6...How do you sound right now.... let me give you an example of how they create a line

                                        Ex
Miami vs Indiana Line is Miami -2.5

                                        Miami record percentage (0.690)
Indiana record percentage (0.587) subrtact the two

                                        Difference 0.103 divided by 20 = rounded num 5

This line should be Miami -5 now take into factor they are on the road so you will deduct 3 points and leaves us with miami -2
So making that line very sharp

Give it a try with a couple other games and see what you get
