didnt realize dwight howard was out for lakers in the first half. Wouldnt have made the second half pick if I knew....fuk me. Lakers got out-rebounded like crazy in second half...almost all points in the paint as well....missing howard was a huge difference. Made a mistake there by not checking whether he was out or not.

Honestly, I will retire from gambling once I am married. Gambling sucks the life out of you. Its not worth making extra money if you are not able to spend time with family and friends.

I know many people will come out and say that you need to have balance. But I am one of those people who goes all-in in anything I do. If I am betting, I put 100% of my time into it..includes analyzing lines, tweaking models, scrapping data..and worst part, actually watching the game. I would never watch any of the games if I didnt have any action on it.

This would all be much easier if the whole thing was 100% legal in US. Nope, it not. You have to go through so much bullshit even when you win. I had so many issues in getting payouts even from "top" books.

Plan to do this thing maybe 1-2 years until I get married. After that cash out most of the winnings and never look back. Dont want to end up being a degenerate. I know I am starting to sound like the legendary poster "Nicky"...but what he was saying was right.

you are wasting your life gambling? Here i am on a beautiful Sunday aft in montreal and it's mild outside, sunny, and people out with shirts.. and what am i doing? for 12 hrs today, i will be sitting in front of tv and pc betting games every 30 min while there is a great world out there. the air is great, and being a gambler, i dont get to enjoy it. i am always home every weekend and never leave the house in case i miss a bet. it's so sad.

What about when summer begins and it's 96 deg and everyone is at the beach and we're home posting, watching baseball and gambling. Doesn't it depress you? Boys, from a guy who is older than most guys here, i will say this, don't make the same mistake as me and waste your life at home. go out and enjoy the world.. it goes by very fast. there is more to life than staying home on a day like this and gamble and watch games. It's gorgeous out there and i am here watching raptors and rangers games. how sad. Even if i make money every year, it's still not worth it to me to sit home all day and waste your life. I always get tickets to habs games right over the habs bench, and i never go cause i need to be in front of pc betting and watching all the games on my tv and screen. I hate this.. It controls my life.

boys, have you ever noticed when you lose money, you are down and depressed. you dont want to see people, you dont want to go out, you dont even think of sex, you dont want to talk to anyone. if you see someone you know, you avoid em. you're not really enthusiastic to post. you keep questioning yourself why you bet and that if you didn't bet, you could have used the money to buy whatever you want and if you didnt lose 3k, you would have bought so and so.. you go to bed and you sleep shit. you toss all night, you dont really get a good night sleep cause it's in the back of your mind. you're just down all the time and you're not a happy person.. your morale is very low.

however...


when you win, you are happy. (like jj in video, after 4-1 day) you love life more.. food tastes better, girls are prettier, you are more sociable. you want to go out more and see the world. if you meet someone you know, you talk with him and you are full of charisma. you sleep like a baby, you're more funny, in a good mood all the time, you treat wife/gf really good, you are more generous, you love to post... etc...


Boys, this is why gambling is sick. it fukks you up completely. this is NOT healthy. it ruins your life cause if you weren't a gambler, you'd never have these problems.

I am sick and tired of having great sleeps and be in great mood when i win, AND be so pissed at everything and treat people bad when i lose and sleep horriblly.. people around me know when i win or when i lose. when i am soooo jolly, they know i am winning.. and when i lose badly, they know i am losing cause i am in a very pissy mood. am i the only one like this?

there's no worse feeling than going to a ** to reload more $$$ so you can bet tonight.. you feel like a real loser while you are filling out the form and you get mad at yourself, but when the $$ is in acct, you feel great again.

Makes sense, I think different people get different things from betting. For me at this point it's 60% intellectual stimulation and 30-40% cash. I'm lucky that money is not a big concern for me.

Great finds vyomguy. I've never heard of Nicky, before my time, but definitely words of wisdom.

I agree that trying to balance a family and gambling can be a conflict of interest. I do it now with a fiancee but I plan on either putting it to an end once I'm married or slowing down considerable.

With that said I do think there is a possibility to do it at a smaller scale. I'm already at a point where I can bet on games and not have to watch them other than looking on my phone at times to see updates. You just need some restraint. If you're the type of person who uses models, etc. then obviously it's tough. But if you're the type of person who can bet on certain sports when certain criterion's are met then you can cap those games and bet on them without having to waste that much time.

It can be done, albeit harder, but obviously won't generate the same results you get now. Perhaps as a smaller type of investment that can still generate a higher ROI than banks and other investment vehicles.
