    Boston +125 tonight.
The Rockets give up the most points in the NBA,
    average 104.8 ppg allowed.

    Celtic defense has been improving.
Get real-time NBA Basketball coverage and scores as Boston Celtics takes on Houston Rockets. We bring you the latest game previews, live stats, expert picks and recaps on CBSSports.com

I will probably stay away from the C's tomorrow night at SA,
but not tonight. This is a bad matchup for the Rockets.
Boston has excellent jump shooters, Houston will not be
contesting their shots well. Contrarily, at least Boston knows
how to play defense, when necessary.

    5d reduced: Celtics +125

Celtics is 1 of the poorest teams in defending the 3 pointers while Rockets is 2nd in the league in 3 points made. If Rockets get hot, Celtics will lose.

actually, let's look at the numbers on 3pt's.

        - teams attempt a 3pt against Houston 4th most in NBA.
        - teams sink an attempted 3pt @ 38.3% rate, 4th worst in NBA
        defending the 3.

        - teams attempt a 3pt against Boston 9th least in the NBA.
        - teams sink an attempted 3pt @ 35.1% rate, 13th best in NBA.

        - Houston attempts a 3pt 2nd most in the NBA. (to Knicks)
        - Houston ranks 13th in % made.

seems to me like Houston is super-vulnerable from beyond the arc,
just like they are super-vulnerable from anywhere, giving up the most
PPG in the NBA. The type of team Boston knows how to beat.

Boston's problem is rebound. They don't have any big guy in the paint to compete with Asirk.

They gave up a lot of offensive rebound. It's not KG that we know. I've been watching them and bet against them on rebound Props until 5D took the props off the board couple games ago.

you didn't watch the Dallas game. Boston is a top five defending team in the nba when k.g. is on the floor. they go to dead last when he is on the bench. Houston is getting the d under control.

I don't think tonight is about Boston's defense as much as it is
about Boston's post-up shooting - Houston has the worst defense
in the NBA. Boston will score at will.

Rockets are pretty tough to beat at home. Rockets toss up many 3-point attempts, so if a fair amount of them go in they will be hard to beat.

I like that just as much, although it's -110, not +125.

btw, this is my first official Celtics play of the season.

looks pretty solid but the Celts always struggle against fast-paced teams. celts matchup kinda well here but what will Doc do? Will they cross match and have Rondo guard Harden and Terry guard Lin? See the average gambler does not think about these things.

Lol, goatie. So does that mean for every game you wager on you'd have to wait til half to know how the coaches game plan? lol, your too much.

Doc is big on trust and I trust Doc's plan, whatever it is,
because like I said tonight's not about the Celtic defense,
at least they have one, Houston does not.

After doing some analyze, I like Boston + 1.5 1st half . Then Houston whatever - 2nd half. Houston tend to start a game slow, and catch up in 2nd half

Celtics has a defence? Rockets won by double digit despite having fewer FGAs and shooting near to 50%.
