If you want to give meaning to those terms, "squares" are generally public-favored bets while sharps generally are part of the early bets on lines and tend to follow less-public choices. But honestly squares do win, its not like they don't. People just denote "sharp" when they win... generally. Those terms are crap to me, its about finding situational bets that favor you, sometimes its good to fade the public, but it isn't always a winning strategy.
