NBA is the easiest sport to profitably cap over a large same size because of the sheer volume of games played every year. I have shown a consistent profit for the past two seasons. Totals are where the real money is made imo. Most sportsbooks in vegas dont allow you to bet more than 1-5k on a total because of how profitable they are to cap. Towards the end of the season it becomes especially easy because so many players get benched to rest for the playoffs. Just my 2cents

Volume doesn't equal success, for most it is just a quicker means to an end.... I know what you are saying though - with the amount of games day in day out its easy to find angels to exploit.

NBA is $$$..but NBA is not easy. Not easy to beat Vegas in popular sports such as NFL or NBA.

Public bets on name so you can find nice value on dogs when everybody is on public, red hot team.

About favourites, the most common mistake in NBA is betting favourites on Moneyline imo. What a waste. If you really want to bet on favourite, lay the points or skip. NBA is WHERE AMAZING HAPPENS-And this is why it's profitable. Anything can misfire and anything can happen in any given day. Bobcats can beat Lakers. Cavs can beat Miami. You should not be surprised when an upset happens. This is not college basketball. Therefore, the odds you bet must be worth of the risk. Sometimes, I see people betting on 1.30-1.40 (-330, -250) odds; bookies love these guys.

              About underdogs,

Let's say you like to bet on Hornets and they're underdog by 2 points. Up to 3 points, I pick dogs on ML. Why? Increasing the odds. Sure, some games are decided by 1-2 points but it can make a big difference to pick something at 2,24 instead of 1,91.

The real beauty of NBA betting is LIVE BET!

If you're placing all your wagers pregame, you're missing the money train.

Basketball, specially NBA is a game of runs. No lead is safe. 1st quarter result means nothing. 1st half result means nothing. Everything can change in 2nd half or last quarter..or maybe even last 3 minutes.

About totals..again you can find very nice betting opportunities if you're betting live. A high scoring affair can become in a defence contest in 2nd half..or when Under looks like certain, tactical fouls in last minutes can cash the ticket for a surprise over bet.

Again about totals..be careful if you're using a system because some intangibles change every season. Fully documented on web; year 2010, I hit %65 with totals, by going 133-83. Next season, I was unable to hit above %54.

As always, Money Management & discipline are vital and critical.

I wish everyone a profitable NBA season..

Here is a link to my NBA thread. I've made a steady profit betting the NBA.

                  A4k's NBA thread

Arguably, the most consistent sport to bet on in my opinion. Huge disparity in talent from the top teams to the bottom teams and a LARGE number of middle tiered teams to take advantage of. NBA is my favorite time of year.

For all you people that are acting like experts, please post plays and keep a record.

                      It's not easy.

You're better play only a couple of games a week otherwise you'll go broke.

It's more about situations for teams than matchups.

So how do you explain the Hornets beating the Clippers last night?

There's your 30% situations. Plus as good as paul and bledsoe are on the defensive end Vasquez has about 6 inches or more on both of these guys...Not really a fair matchup as he can shoot over the top of both of them at any time imo and Del Negro is not a good coach hence he made no proper adjustment in the 2nd half.

You're right it's more about matchups in the playoffs. It's 70% about matchups in the playoffs too and 30% adjustments.

You know what helps the most? Not listening to 85% of the garbage people post. Do your own research. Come up with your own lines and then compare to the numbers from the books. Adjust.
