    Leans for Friday 11/20/08
At the request of many email questions, I have been repeatedly asked to mention what Stylistic is playing. She has been very good at what she does, and there is a method to her madness.

So today we will check in on her plays for Friday, and i will share them with the public. Bear in mind that she only makes plays on two teams period, and those teams are Charlotte and Sacramento. So although it may seem strange, it actually seems to be working for her because as she puts it "has a finger on the pulse" of those teams, knowing when they will win and when they will get a defeat.

For tomorrow's action she likes Charlotte+8 (she points to their ats record against the Hawks), and Sacramento+4 (with her rationale being that the Trailblazers have been on a continuous road trip). Handicapping at it's simple roots.

As for myself, I am going all Texas tomorrow, as I like the Rockets (spread unannounced), and Spurs (line also unannounced). The Spurs have the Jazz number at home, and the banged up Rockets need to show that they can win without Yao manning the middle.

I think the Rockets get it done short handed against the Wizards, a team that I saw play for the first time the other day, and I was taken aback by their lack of enthusiasm and energy. They lack a defensive presence in the middle. I will more than likely buy a point or two for the Rockets as once again they are short handed and Yao has been ruled out for Friday's matchup.

As far the Spurs are concerned, they played stuck in the mud the last time they played as predicted, trying not to lose rather than playing to win, which is a recipe for disaster. Utah is playing well at home, but as usual they are one of the worst road teams in the NBA. I still don't understand how they constantly underachieve even in key situations on the road. Their style of play is taylor made for the Spurs style of play. I would like to see the Spurs get a point or two at home tomorrow. If they are favored by more than 3, then more than likely I won't play them, and just stick with the Rockets.

    Rockets minus the chalk
Spurs? who knows if they will be favored or an underdog

She just told me that Charlotte is money, and that a wise guy play was made on it already at the Golden Nugget which drove the line down to +7.5.

I'm telling you all that don't know her, she does ALL of her homework. My girl has all of the sportsbook telephone numbers in Vegas. She is very thorough about her two teams (Charlotte and Sacramento) and only their numbers. I am going to two way her picks for $1000.00, and also bet both of them straight for dimes. She is my ultimate bad streak breaker. You guys that don't know her skills will soon wish that you had it so good.

You can't hate a person who tells you that the Blazers don't like playing in Northern California. "I read it in their local paper," she told me about tomorrow's game. "They said it is too close to home," then she explained to me that the Northern California games are like games played against neighbors. "It's always the games last played before they return home to Portland, or the first game on a road trip. Whatever it is the short flight is never a positive experience. And the bus rides are even worse between Oakland and Sacramento when that happens. It's like a high school trip"

I must have looked it up and found out that what she said was true. The Blazers have a subpar record against both the Warriors and the Kings on the road. It's simple things like that that make her good at her craft. CK Mafia, I will give you Stylistic's picks when they come up and even when she gives a pass on the evening, which will be often.

Some stats to back up that one pick:
Sacramento is 4-1 ATS in the last 5 meetings in Sacramento
Sacramento is 5-0 ATS in the last 5 meetings
Sacramento is 4-1 S.U. in the last 5 meetings in Sacramento

No maddog, i haven't heard from night in a minute since the lst time he called me and let me know he would be going to Jamaica. At any rate,

Tonight we have a full slate of games on tap, and there are some juicy lines to play.

On my book Houston is a 6.5 point favorite against the awful Washington squad. This is an out of conference game, so it would behoove bettors to buy a bucket if that option is available, and at the very least, knock off the hook. Houston is 4-1 ats and straight up playing the Wizards on the road. Be advised that Yao has been ruled OUT for this game, so the Rockets will be shorthanded. Still with the players that they have left on the bench, they will get the job done, as they have something that Washington has not displayed this year. Hustle and depth. Tracy McGrady is hobbled somewhat by an ankle injury, but the supporting cast is strong enough to pull them through. Washington will lose Coach Jordan his job before the end of the season. Yes, they are that bad. They have no interior defense and they are not a smart playing team. Get Houston early. The line will rise, trust me.

San Antonio's line is -3.5. The loss at home to Denver in their last game is still heavy on the mind of Coach Popovich, and he is preaching positioning rather than reaching on defense. Look for the Spurs to continue their dominance over the Jazz at home. The Spurs have their number at home unlike any other matchup that I have ever seen, going a perfect 20-0 straight up and 16-4 ats when playing at home against the Jazz. This is a line worth watching.

Here are the notes about the Bobcats. Charlotte (Styles' pick) is an 8 point underdog, and the consensus so far is 72% of bettors are on Atlanta, despite the Bobcats having their number. Charlotte is even at 4-4 straight up and ats against the Hawks in Atlanta, and they were rewarded for their efforts with an 8 point spread in this game the largest spread that Atlanta has EVER had against the Bobcats in the brief history of these teams playing one another. Charlotte is well coached, but they lack depth. Talent wise, they have decent players at each position, but no star power. Jason Richardson will be OUT for this game, which means that Gerald Wallace at the urging of Larry Brown must take more shots. D.J. Augustin, the talented rookie from Texas will get the start over Matt Carroll tonight to give the obs some much needed scorign from off of the bench. Also starting tonight will be Alexis Ajinca, in place of Emeka Okafor, who is struggling in Larry Brown's system. This move was made to spur Okafor to play with more intensity having to watch the rookie get his minutes from the bench. Look for him to have much more fire coming off of the bench tonight. With Augustin, Felton and Wallace on the floor at the same time the Bobcats point production should go up. Shannon Brown has slipped out of the rotation with Carroll and Adam Morrison eating up the perimeter minutes. The moves that Coach Brown has made are going to get them more offensive production and strengthen the bench if the vets can adapt to their roles.

Sacramento is a strange team, there is a definite shift in the team with a youth movement going on. Miller is no longer starting and has given way to Hawes at the center position. Hawes is a superbly conditioned athlete and may be the steal of his draft year. Bobby Jackson is back in town to shore up the hole left when K-mart went down with injury. Salmons is providing offensive and defensive punch as well. Beno Udrih is being pushed for minutes by Bobby Brown a talented rook from Cal State Fullerton. Coach Theus is hearing grumblings about his job security and needs signature wins to hold onto it. Portland has been on a perpetual travel mode and has been one of the busiest teams in the NBA with respect to logging the travel miles. They are only 3-7 straight up and 4-6 ats in the last 10 games in Sacramento, and that was before they were made favorites in this game, which incidently is the first time that they have been favored in Sacramento since 1999. Look for this line to rise as the public will continue to pound the Blazers. The line should settle at 6 or so by gametime.

OK well yesterday was wash. I hate playing with no results. I should not be playing anything when i am to busy to devote the proper system that I have. That will not happen today or at anytime in the future. I know that CK will tell me to relax and take my lumps but I F_cking can't. If you want to see what I am playing you will have to check back about an or before the start of the game. GL as always.

white lion, I wasn't speaking of you. I was referencing jaelin, another person who has come over from the old site that we used to use, Coversexperts. And the Yoda reference was in response to the old avatar that he used at that site. You may end up seeing it by the end of the day. We need that Yoda for good luck!

Midday, and the Houston line is doing what it is supposed to do going from 5 to 6.5. I doubt that it will go any higher than that, and let's hope so, so that everyone can play it at a reasonable number (6). The public is on the side of Houston, and the line went up accordingly, with no reverse movement.

Charlotte is still the minority among bettors with 20% to Atlanta's 80%. I still feel that this line will go up sharply right before gametime, so my advice is to get a good cigar, a taste of Gentleman Jack and lounge around until 4:00pm pst. I think that this line will get up to 9 by gametime with all of the Atlanta action. If it goes in reverse, that's even better.

Sacramento is getting similar results with 20% of bettors placing their money on their side, and 80% on the Blazers' side.

I have a problem with the moneyline not matching up with a 4.5 spread on the San Antonio game. A moneyline of -175 is typical for a 3 to 3.5 spread. 4.5 should be accompanied by a moneyline of -220/+180. San Antonio is the minority 36% to 64% and there is reverse movement involved with the line going from an opening of 3.5 to 4.5 with the minority of wagerers on San Antonio. That moneyline better even up or else i am going to have to drop this game.

Styles' two plays are completely the minority, and two of the lowest three on the board, with the lowest being Minnesota at 13% in their game with Boston tonight.

As stated, i am playing both of her plays straight and 2 waying them as well around 3:00. I will play my Sacramento straight around 6:30pm pst.

Houston has already been played at -6

Charlotte will be played at 4:00 pm pst
Charlotte/Sacramento parlay will be played then as well

Sacramento will be played at 6:30pst

I am still up in the air about the Spurs so it doesn't look good for me to play it unless the Jazz are getting back some players and the minutes are going to get messed up

Jazz are missing D-Will, Boozer, Korver, and Knight is a game-time decision, CK.

The Kid that was vital information. A wounded team is a dangerous team. I am laying off of the San Antonio game. i knew that I smelled a rat. It's too easy to take San Antonio in that game. They will find a way to make it a close game even with all of Utah's injuries..

Another interesting tidbit for wagerers this Friday night. Never bet with a team that has won three in a row, always bet on a team that has lost three in a row. Teams that are garbage (record less than .400) and have lost more than 4 in a row are the exception. They are just pitiful and not worth the money. Proceed with caution. It's Friday!

Teams in trouble using this theory Dallas, Boston, Denver, Orlando, Lakers. The Lakers and the Nuggets cancel each other out because they are playing each other. Teams due to win one straight up is Milwaukee, and they barely made it by a hair. Oklahoma City and Washington are excused because they are horrible and under .400

Out of this bunch, Orlando seems to be the easiest mark, with sub par ats records against their opponents in this situation.

well hopefully that theory pulls through because i played minnesota, strictly off trends, so if you don't believe in trends you might not wanna follow suit. I put some trends in another post, so i won't bore you with repeating them, but both meetings last season were decided by a TOTAL of 3 points, even if the wolves don't cover, its a pick i can feel should cover

This will be the first game that Brand plays against the Clipps and e will like there ass up. Charlotte is incredible in Division games and really steps it up. In addition there offensive production has gone up by 4 in the last 5 games. They have a good chance of a win here.
