To be honest, if you're struggling to scrape together a $50 bankroll after 1k posts, it's probably a good sign that sports betting is not for you.

shut up, you don't know shite. I don't have a lot of money for betting anymore due to personal circumstances. I made about 3.5k last year but I had a lot more money available to do sensible bets. Now I keep hitting a brick wall because I'm loose with where I put my money and just end up going on swings.Comment -

#6304I.e last week i put in $50 put that on Brumbies +14.5 it came in, I then did $50 on Japan 2.60(nz tab mistake) and $20 on fiji -10.5 + japan both came in so I was looking good.
Then come the weekend I lost like $60 on the all blacks game, then I had $50 on Lions -1.5 first half, $10 on Lions/Aus ht ft and $20 on Aus live. all lost. I ended up withdrawing $136.
On Sunday I put $10 in and put that on Japan/USA over 53.5 paying 4.33, it came in. I then put that on NZ u20s to score before 25 mins. Came in, so I'm upto $70 but I then go and put that on the over in rebels/lions and here I am again back at square 1Comment -

#6305Once you build up a bit I'd recommend shoowing more discipline. Once you were at the $200 or whatever you shouldn't really put more than 20 on a game. Might not sound like much but its 10% of what you have to work with. The key is always to keep yourself in the game. When the big plays come along you have a good feel for, hit em big, but besides that should just be grinding it out. When you have 200, doesn't take long to go bust betting 50-70 a game.Comment -

btw upcoming super rugby who do you like im thinking
chiefs over hurricanes
bulls ATS over kings (currently at -18)
crusaders over highlanders (maybe even ATS opening at 6.5)
cheetahs +5.5 over stormers (i dont like betting against stormers as i rate their team but they very rarely show up to outclass their opponents, usually have a slow grind out game ending in under 7 points between the teams and with the cheetahs ability id take the points)Comment -

#6308Well, personal circumstances are irrelevant really, no need to take offence. Point is if you're THAT strapped for cash, sports betting should be the last thing on your mind. Get back on your feet and get comfortable, get disposable income before investing any time and money into sports betting. That way, bankroll management won't be an issue.
Take it on board or not, fact is reality that truthful, harsh advice is better than "go all in a few times and hope to double up". Best of luck.Comment -

#6309Ill make this as simple as you can... Don't bet, save enough money to creat a bankroll eg: $400 then don't bet more then $20 per bet then when u get to 1000$ then u can upgrade ur units, if u only have $50 you will always be chasing, keep it simpleComment -

#6310State of origin tonight and it should be a beauty.
NSW are going to miss Hayne although Dugan is a good replacement.
Queensland have included Papalli who will give the forwards some extra grunt but with Parker starting this will give the pack some more mobility .
The key is Inglis, he needs to have his hands on the ball more often and I can see him being used as an extra forward running on the left edge, he is the best player in the NRL at the moment and he is capable of causing a lot of damage .
Cherry Evans is a great addition and Meninga may use him at hooker and move Smith to lock , Cherry Evan could give the Maroons a lot of go forward darting out of the ruck when the big NSW forwards are tiring .
The Queensland team have been on top for so long the loss in Sydney will be enough motivation for them, The ground will be faster tonight and the crowd is always worth 2 to 4 points.
In the 47 games played at Suncorp stadium Qld have won 29.
The last 6 games played in Queensland that were live rubbers resulted in Queensland winning all 6.
2006 30-6
2007 10-6
2008 30-0
2010 34-6
2011 34-24
2012 21-20
The Queensland team is still the same one that has won the last 7 series and the bookies are well aware of that.
Queensland to win tonight and cover the line of 4.5
good luck to allComment -

#6311Thanks for the advice guys, I am now left with making the decision whether to try and do something with the $50 i have free for this weekend, whether that be one all in bet, or two $25 or break it up into $5-10 bets or wait and save upto $200-400. After next week I should be able to haul in around $80 a week to spare for betting.
Burke - I find super rugby this weekend very hard as I don't know how the all blacks players are going to respond, that was a pretty physical series against france and some of the guys were tired in game 3, that may carry over. I'm probably going to focus my attention on the 7's World cup and Wallabies/Lions if I bet.
I believe this multi is great. To win their respective pools, NZ, Aus, South Africa, Fiji. Pays 2.04. All of them should win their pool matches. I think Aus is great value to win the tourny also.
BTW is there anyone that isn't registered to centrebet that would be interested in signing up? They have this promo http://centrebet.com/promos/join30
deposit 30 and you get a $100 bonus bet.
If anyone would be keen please mail me your email address so I can refer you(I get $50 bonus bet) which could greatly help me right now!Comment -

wait till you have $200-$300
-run a labby, make each line 4% of your bankroll or less.
-play one game at a time (stay disciplined)
-use your own picks, or picks from this thread
think of it as an investment as opposed to just gambling.
it will be slow but profitable.Comment -

#6315re: Davopnz, IMO the the only ways to build up a small bankroll is to:
a) Choose 3 bets and martingale them, it's hard for only $50, so maybe instead do $10, $20, $20
b) Bet on large ML favourites and go all in each time
None of these is recommended, or smart betting, but if you want to get your bet on and actually give yourself a chance of running it up these are the only things that work IMO.
Much better though is to bet with SBR points or something (if you must bet) and wait to save your bankroll up to at least $500, then you can bet meaningful amounts of money and "care" about what you bet.
Truth be told though, if you need to bet urgently before building up your bankroll to that point, you probably do have a gambling problem. Just like 95% of people on hereComment -

#6316State of Origin 3
I think Ferguson had limited impact in game 1 and I agree with Angelo that Hayne with Dugan is nearly a wash. QLD changes are not that relevant in my opinion, the key is Inglis - he was a no show and this WON'T happen again, not in QLD. The line is sharp on this one, so will probably stay away from a side but will have some money on QLD at the ML and looking hard at the over. I don't think QLD want this to be a grind, as their strengths are in their backs. If NSW get behind and need to start throwing the ball around then we could see a very open game this time around. Strong lean to the over 34.5Comment -

#6317Just stopped by for a minute to share a gift with anyone who is lucky enough to have a Centrebet account. Tonight's Centrebet Origin II promo is "If Slater or Dugan score your 1st bet (on any market) is refunded as cash" - up to $100 and providing it is a losing ticket.
So here's what you do...
Put $100 on the "tie" in the Slater v Dugan most tries market and there are two possible outcomes.
A. Neither player scores a try OR they both score the same amount of tries and your bet is cashed as a winner.
B. Either Slater or Dugan score more tries than the other and your bet is a losing ticket, however Centrebet will refund it within 24 hours as cash to your account.

#6323I have been doing well on some of those meter gained player bets last 2 rounds, here are my thoughts.
As I said before Parker O105.5 is the best one, had him last 2 games for the Broncos and went well well over, meter machine at the moment. He racked up 80 M in Game 1 coming off the bench, he is starting now and looking at Qld forward rotation I think he will get plenty of game time.
Another one jumps at me is McQueen U90.5, its a lowish number and McQueen is now starting but coming off the bench he didnt do much last game gained 52 M in 27 minutes. For club he plays close to full game and only hit that total once ALL Year. With talk about bad surface I'd hate to be taking Unders for a starting forward but the numbers are compelling.
Slater is at 145.5 he ran 204M in game one and I think there is a chance NSW will be working off their line most of the game with possible kicking on tackle 4 might give him a heap of opportunities to run that.
Dugan 140.5 is interesting .. Hayne ran 188 in G1 and 204 for Slater, Dugan's numbers for the Dragons have been HUGE I think last game the lne for him was 165.5 and he still easily exceeded that. Obviously his involvment wont be as high in this game but something I am noticing for South is Meritt doesnt take the ball up very often. More than most wingers he fields the ball and offloads to Inglis, he is obviously small in stature and makes sense but if he does that tonight Dugan will get ample opportunities to get over that line.
The only other two I am looking at are Bird and Gallen
Gallen only played 50 mins in the first game ( maybe I should double check that cause it sounds way too low) and he managed to go for 188 M his line is set 165.5. I would think Gallen would get more minutes, but such a high line is always risky. I guess something to consider is all the attention around the punch up from the first game ... will Qld be all over him ? how will he react ?
Bird kind of the same he ran for 105 M in game one and thats the line set, but he also only played 55 mins so potential there to exceed that cause in my opinion he was pretty quite in game 1.Comment -

I really like Cheetahs +5.5 The Stormers have nothing left to play for and the Cheetahs need every point to make the finals for the first time ever.
Chiefs should win at home and the Crusaders also need a win to stay in the hunt for the finals. Could be a nice ML parlay.Comment -

#6334Haas game cashes on the under!
Hey guys I wanted to let you all know that for the past 6 months I have been signed up to a betting system that has in the past 3 years had a win rate of 97% across NBA,NHL,NFL and MLB. It's by far the best proven system that has consistently provided winners! It's actually dirt cheap too given its record and strike rate and when you compare to most cappers who average 55-60%! I can't provide the picks because its part of the terms of signing up and I won't take away anything from the hard work this guy has put into his system! It's only $175 for a LIFETIME subscription and he emails the picks to you and usually well before the game starts! I'm from Sydney and he is based in California so that would give you an idea of time difference! It's not like some other systems out there where you have to sign up to certain bookkeepers etc. you can use whichever you prefer or gives best odds! As long as you bet on his picks your guaranteed to make money and he even backs himself with a refund if you are not happy with it! If anybody is interested private message me and I can provide more information and refer you!
I think we all want to make money, and with this system you can!Comment -
