Utah @ Detroit Pistons -2 (-105, $1.95 Pinnacle) 3x The low post advantage the Jazz enjoys against most teams does not exist against the Pistons. The Pistons as a team are literally improving with every game. Despite having a (solid) 10-9 record at home, they have actually won 5 of their last 6 at home, with victories over Miami, Atlanta and Milwaukee included and bizzarely the loss coming against Charlotte of all teams. The Pistons have also won 7 of their last 10 overall and are one of the few continually under-valued teams in the NBA. I hit up No Coincidences for an opinion on this game (as a Detroit local) and he commented that the Pistons are loaded with young talent but have poor coaching. Sadly i have to agree with him, but regardless make no mistake about it - Detroit, along with Houston, Toronto, Orlando and San Antonio are one of the ATS money teams in the NBA. After a horrible start to the season (lost their first 8 in a row) they have won 7 of their last 10 and have gone 6-4 ATS. Even with the 4 games they have lost ATS, 3 of them lost by the hook or 1 point. This team is continually undervalued by the books, mostly because of their lack of a big name and also partly because they are not in an NBA glamour city. I have watched a lot of the Pistons this year and feel like I have a solid handle on the team and I would go as far as to say that the Pistons in Detroit when playing their best basketball can beat any team in the NBA, yes that includes OKC and San Antonio, any team. Monroe is starting to deliver, no more waiting. Is it a coincidence that the current run has Monroe averaging 18.8 points and 11 rebounds over the last 5? I think not. Despite the wealth of young talent from 1-3 (Knight, Drummond, Daye, Singler) this is still a physical grinding team (always has been) and their future success absolutely will revolve around Monroe moving forward. The big fella has the potential to be a top 3 centre in the league and whilst 5 games is an awfully small sample size, anyone that has watched those 5 games will understand what I am talking about. Monroe is developing into a presence in the low post and is almost at the point where we are talking auto double team. Add to that a suprisingly reliable mid range J and we have the makings of a true NBA centre (of which their are almost none in the NBA outside of Bynum). Utah coming off the back2back and with a poor road record (as has been the case for years) of 8-15 is not going to make the task any easier (although the Pistons are also on the back2back).
More analysis to follow later...
Orlando @ LA Clippers Magic +13 (-108, $1.92 IAS/Sportsbet) 1x
Miami @ Sacramento
Heat -7 (-106, $1.94 Pinnacle) 2x *The time has finally come to stop fading these idiots. Today a long overdue double digit victory for the Heat I think. Dominant ATS stats against the Kings, 19-3 in the last 22 (ATS) and 7-1 in the last 8.

I like your picks but yeah the prices available are a bit rough. Not playing anything tonight mate, got a lot of work to put in for the start of the Australian open tomorrow.

Heat 1st Quarter -2.5 (-105, $1.95 Pinnacle) 0.5x
*Sticking with my lean that the Heat will come out firing today.
Houston @ Philly 76'ers m/l (-108, $1.92 IAS/Sportsbet) 1x *The $2.00 was long gone from Sportingbet when I went to place my wager, so I found the next best price available at IAS. Shouldn't have procrastinated on this one for so long as could have gotten +110 on Philly at one point. All the late money coming in on the Sixers.
NBA Totals Charlotte @ Indiana Under 186.5 (-109, $1.91 Pinnacle) 1x

3.5x plays 1-0 100%
4x plays 1-0 100%
That's probably it. Maybe one more total, still contemplating, otherwise NBA card is complete. Magic down by 8 with 1 quarter to play. Hopefully they can hang on to start the card off nicely.
Will be back later today with an updated tennis record and my plays for the 1st round of the Australian Open. Two bad days in a row in tennis, not offended if anybody feels like fading them. Good luck to all.

Very encouraging that the bigger the unit the better success rate.
Sometimes I feel like any bet I go larger on is 70% to lose...

Feels like a trap on the heat game. However maybe the kings come out flat due to for sale sign hanging on their heads

NBA Saturday
One dirty half of Detroit Pistons basketball killed a perfect day. Still up over 2 units for the day, so definitely not a bad day by any means but man I really hate losing the big plays, would have rather gone 3-3 and nailed that Pistons play but alas you can't win them all.

10-3 last 2 days. (NBA appears to be back on track, now for the Tennis...)

good stuff sando...i stick reckon you should do halves or quarters when betting on bum teams i.e pistons, cavs, hornets, craptors etc etc more often than not they only show up for 1 or 2 quarters

I'll be posting my plays for round 1 men and women in 1-2 hours for anyone that cares. Been working on them for 9 hours since half way through the Pistons game. I'm planning on having a big tournament.
