Can't believe the NBA season starts next week... feels like I was watching the finals like a month ago. Guess it makes it seem like time passes faster with football goin on. I definitely got some work to do to get ready for the season so I'll try to limit my plays early on. I feel like I know the most about the NBA out of all sports and had a pretty solid run in my first full season capping with 33u of profit including the post season... i'll post last years thread at the end of this post. One play I've locked in so far:

honestly I haven't finished getting ready for the NBA yet so I'm prob overlooking some things so I'm glad u asked cause it makes me dig deeper into preparing for the season. But some things that stood out so far:

The Atlantic division is much improved - every team (except NY) got better imo. Brooklyn obv way better and the Celtics have so much more depth this yr, I like Toronto to be move competitive as well. I'm not a big Bynum guy and don't think he is a great fit here - 1. I don't think he has the makeup of a night in and night out #1 guy, I think he is weak mentally 2. I can see a clash with Doug Collins who promotes hustle and hard work which we know is not Bynum's game 3. doesn't have to do with the fit but Bynum can go down with an injury at any time - but who knows maybe he comes in in great shape and dominates offensively and on the glass like he is capable of.

Some other notes - Sixers lost their best overall player in Iggy and their crunch time scorer with Lou Williams and replaced them with over-the-hill Jason Richardson and Nick Young. Thad Young is solid off the bench but I have to think that he's been in the league long enough that teams will realize he can only go to his left... Evan Turner really needs to step up (decent possibility) and Nick Young needs to grow up (eh, we'll see)... Lavoy Allen looks like a solid role guy (or maybe it was just cause he looked so good against my celtics in the postseason).

So basically I think Philly overachieved last year, will have tougher reg season competition, and they're putting all their eggs in one basket with Andrew Bynum which I can't endorse...

The Sixers are better and deeper than last year. Living in Nj, I hear and see a lot on this team. Will be really suprised if this is not a 50 win team.

It could happen for sure Rone, but I think they would need a monster season from Bynum to get 50. There are less wins for the taking in the Atlantic this year and they were on pace for only 43-44 wins last year

I do not like that trade the 76ers made wit Iguodala. I think they took a step back. Investing in Bynum is a risky move. If they would have added some big men in free agency alongside with Iguodola, and keeping most of their current roster they would be dynamite. I don't' think the 76ers will be good as last year. I say no higher than a 6th seed if that. The 76ers is a young team without a leader or go to clutch player. Young players who want the spotlight is not a good mix. I mean last year they looked discombobulated at times, and this year they took a step back I believe... I think the 76ers will be fourth in their division if the Knicks are healthy if not than they will be 3rd and the Knicks dropping to 4th.

I agree with a lot of those points - i'll just add that Lou Williams is a pretty big loss for this team since he was the guy when the offense broke down... they need Holiday and possibly Nick Young to fill that role since I don't think Evan Turner or J-Rich have that kind of game. If Bynum goes down they are screwed since they don't have much depth up front but I guess you could say that about a lot of teams in the East if they lose their top big man.. but Bynum is more injury-prone than most. I think the most underrated factor is that there are less easy wins to go around in the Atlantic this yr... Philly got their wins last yr cause they were young and deep which was perfect for the condensed season but they faltered later in the season after teams got into shape (got so lucky with Rose out in playoffs of course). Totally agree they will be 3/4 in their division unless Bynum becomes a leader.

I really like the Jazz and their frontcourt this year although their ball handling looks like it might be a bit iffy since Mo Williams isn't really a PG and Hayward is more of a 3 than a 2... Foye might have to fill in handling the ball more although he's not really a PG either... They have 4 solid froncourt players though and they are committed to playing inside-out so they should be alright. I think a lot of people have them on the fringe of the playoffs maybe a 7 or 8 seed but I think they are a for sure a playoff team in the west so I'm thinking prop on them to make the playoffs would be good value if I can find it.

Love the Warriors future, provided Curry/Bogut remain healthy they have alot of pieces to win 40+ games.

Yeah I really like the pieces they added with Jarret Jack, Harrison Barnes, and Landry... especially Jack to give them some toughness at PG (Curry is kind of a pussy albeit real talented and smart). Like always they have a decent amount of firepower on offense but not a lot of defense so it is imperative that Bogut stays healthy (not liking that he's already questionable for gm 1). I actually think they can get over this number even if Curry misses some time but Bogut is the real key for this bet.

Not gonna lie right now I feel like I gained virtually no experience from last yr with it being a lock-out season. Things that worked last yr are not working with the players actually in shape. Gonna have to find some new angles until then will prob just be flat betting 1x and watchin a lot of games..

man Andre Miller is still a good NBA player... he is so key for Denver - a smart veteran guy on a not so smart team. In other news Kyle Singler is getting minutes cannot be good news for Detroit's depth
