Feeling pretty good having hit my "best bet" 5 days in a row including Indiana last night although it seemed most people were on the Nets plus the points.The pick today is Utah -4. This will be a slaughter. Some quick points:
-The story in this game will be Defense and Rebounding..2 things the Knicks do not do and Utah does very well. Rebounding: Utah is 4th in the league in rebounding differential at +5.8. Knicks are 2nd to last at -9.8. Defense: Utah is 3rd in the league in Opponent's PPG and 9th in Opponent's FG%. The Knicks are 3rd to last and 2nd to last in those respective categories.
-Knicks are averaging 101.6 points per game. However, this statistic is misleading, as they have scored 120, 101 and 114 against Miami, Charlotte and Washington respectively. (86 and 87 against Philadelphia and Milwaukee)
-Both teams played on Wednesday and Friday. Therefore, neither has a distinct advantage in being tired. However, if anything is to be looked at here it's that the Knicks play a much faster paced style of basketball than the Jazz, and that will wear on their legs more. They shot 77 and 90 shots in their last 2 games compared to Utah's 74 and 72.
Overall, I think Utah is too solid of a team to not cover this small point spread against the rebuilding Knicks who have no identity yet.
