I guess Gordon is a bit of a risk, but noone has had more top 5/top10 cars this year only to not finish well due to something not totally related to driver or pit crew control. I also like the fact he has qualified really well here in the past couple of races. Track position may be more important considering the track reconfiguration, wire to wire winner last night would seem to support that. He also did well here before the progressive banking was installed.

Betting against Truex here is kind of dangerous as all the MWR cars were soo strong here in March with three in the top 5. But you have to love Bowyers recent form, he is strong on the concrete, and Truex definitely liked the higher groove, which has been grinded down in the new configuration, creating a tighter groove.

Kennseth over Biffle is solid value. I would prefer Biffle on a cookie cutter 1.5 mile, but Kennseth is just too consistent here to be overlooked. I think his edge may be bigger with less progressive banking as well.

Mike, I guess passing wasn't as common as before the track changes? Wire to wire winner, or were other drivers passing frequently. Seems like smoothing out the progressive banking would tighten the groove and make passing tough.

Do you like anyone in qualifying bets for tomorrow? I made a few bets on it, seems like Newman is the best value to qualify well here, also took Hamlin o Stewart. If it is less passing, qualifying well should be more important than before.

i wouldnt pay much attention in comparing truck to cup cars...or what happened...cup cars driving inches apart wont last as long as trucks did imo

probably no qualifying bets, i rarely ever play those...ive only bet 4or5 qualifying bets all season...

i dont think qualifying in 20s is that bad, and defintley not a bad sign...the best drivers can pass here...top groove isnt near as good as b4, but u can still make the pass if ur better than whos in front...track position will be key late of course..i think there will be plenty of cautions in cup cause they will use the bumper saturday night

groove could widen a bit but if it stays as it is there will be impatient drivers trying to get to front. Especially if race starts with long green run like last night
