Alright boys were off to the MONSTER MILE this weekend!!!...and we have a triple header weekend with all 3 nascar series at the track, trucks friday afternoon, nationwide saturday, and CUP back on its regular day of sunday early afternoon...

(ignore the mispelled title of the thread...lol)

Ive already started watching past events here for the last few years and getting my driver/track notebooks out so lets get started!...our GREAT season just keeps on rolling so hopefully we all get there again this weekend...

As always, all of out regulars thoughts/opinion/outlooks are always welcome and appreciate on this thread...this season would not be the great success its been without every1 sharing their picks and insight each week...

DOVER is a 1-mile concrete oval racetrack...the turns have a banking of 24 degrees and the straights have 9 degrees of banking...the frontstrectch and the backstretch are both 1, 076 feet long

SPRINT CUP SCEDULE:

PRACTICES: 11am and 2:30 pm both on FRIDAY and airing on SPEED channel

QUALIFYING: noon SATURDAY airing on SPEED channel

SPRINT CUP RACE AT DOVER: SUNDAY @ 12:30 on FOX

like me mike already started my research for dover it looks like usual suspects to win this weekend, kurt b won in dover last yr cant fancy him this time round can kasey kahne continue his improved performances and of course jimmy and kyle should be strong

nobody even close to jimmy and kyle here imo...im sure those will be 6 or 7 to 1 opening

i will be definatley taking Truex. Jr. here.....ALWAYS starts up front( 2 poles last few years) and has a win here in '07...if his price is good im all over him this week....be a great mid-priced pick imo

7/8 winners have also started in top 10, so this is 1 of the few places i do [pay attention to qualifying, especially with the lack of cautions going on

i always watch past 4 races from the track the CUP series is at for the upcoming weekends race... a.big advantage for how i cap the races...been doing it a few years now

pretty much all i do on mondays/tuesdays and surround myself with my track/driver notebooks...

gives me another perspective, that just looking at stats from each race just doesnt give me

just imho, alot happens during past races that stats dont tell you

his car was awful handling anyways, that didnt cost him a good finishing position...he had already went a lap down


*i just think as fast as that team has been this is a good race to take him....not like hes dominated or ran teriffic or anything, just think he a good longshot pick

ive seen some other places, but 5dimes always better so not sure what to expect yet

kennseth pretty damn stout here too, both his wins coming in the spring race, while jimmy has only won 1 of the last 6 spring races

The Greek is usually the first to post odds......But 5 dimes normally has the best odds.

KYLE and KENNSETH both have 2 wins at DOVER, all coming in the spring race

not sure it matters too much, but jimmy has 2 of his 6 wins in the spring, 4 in the fall race

may take 1 more longshot, but no more mid to high priced drivers til the weekend

dont want to tie my hands too much too early...ive left plenty of room to add to the odds if they get better, and could move anybody to a cover wager if i choose to later

i will have to say, those odds were much better than i expected, especially on the candy man kyle busch

Yeah even Kenseth is back at +1000........Think I'm gonna wait until I see what chassis setup the drivers will have for the race.

Brad K may bring back the blue deuce that won at Bristol.

Dover to me is a larger version of Bristol with the cement track and high banking.

jimmy +600 now too, but not suprised if that goes lower today too


im sure lots of people liked the early numbers

some of those will get better numbers later, but usually still works out in the end to help more than hurts betting early...if they get better ill bet them again..

I know it looks like throwing good money after bad after a while, but had to take Carl +1000 early. One of the few tracks where he tends to qualify well (well 7th best out of this field).

Also took Truex to win Group C +300

(and a half unit on Marcos +6000, of course)

BTW... my forum access is back to normal now.

BTW, i like edwards too a little, been burned too many times by him not having the speed, especially at those odds...just seems like he cant win races anymore....but im keeping an eye out on him just in case i change my mind
