2012 NASCAR Games/Comps
Posting this early so the non-pros can start transferring early for the season if they like.
Feb 18 - Vegas suggested we try and have a game for The Shootout this year. Usually most people don't re-appear in this forum until Daytona weekend but we will give it a try. No idea of format yet. Will post it a few days before the race.
Feb 26 - Restart the Weekly Picks Game for Daytona. I'm thinking we should keep a similar format and buy-in price but maybe freshen it up a bit. Maybe something like picking the first car to drop out of the race, or the highest finishing Chevy/Ford/Toyota as tiebreakers? Or just keep it the same?
I liked the Season Long pool last year. And this year I'll PM the 30 odd people who played last year so everyone gets a chance to get in from race 1. I might even split it it into three 12 race series, or four 9 race series, so latecomers have a better chance this year. Suggestions?
Punters Club - We have 2 options. All put in our points again, and place our bets in Thad's point book and SBRbook when we can. I've asked Thad if he will give us greatly increased limits so we can do this. If Thad cannot accommodate us I will do the sane as last year. Buy 5 Dimes cash with the points then at the end of the year withdraw our winnings and buy SBR points with them to distribute.
A show of hands of how many might be interested in joining the punters club this year would be good too. Buy in will likely be 500 for pros and 100 for non-pros.
I like the ESPN fantasy stockcar challenge game, but our pool around it become a little boring last year. Haven't really thought about it yet but think we need to change up the format somehow to make that worth continuing.
Hopefully we can start to get some more member to member points betting action in here this year too. Anyone with a bank of points feel like offering a NASCAR prop point for the sub-forum this year?
Anyway, that's the current plans. If anyone else wants to do something or make any suggestions go for it. Probably won't finalize anything until mid-February.
