He did the right thing, why chance wrecking a good car in a non points race. This could be his backup car for the 500 or they might have other plans down the road for it and tearing it up in a pretty much meaningless race is a smart move I think.

I don't think either of his team mates would have automatically driven that way though. And I think both of them are more likely to win a championship.
