I think you could give the two guys that missed a break and count Wolverine's entry. Rickie is the only problem.

He has averaged 2.5 right the whole year so seems fair to just give him 2. He probably would have gotten 3 but he is getting a good break. He is one up on me for the entire year so I don't mind that. I am one up on unlearn. Wolverine would have won 2. He is up 2 on Rickie and would likely be up 1. That is more than fair. We are all tied this way. It is fair enough.

If we change things, I also think we should use the season standings for the whole year. We've all been putting in picks. The bottom fell out on Zlaniner so he did not lose anything. Those of us in the running, are getting a break this segment in winning. It is pretty much a dead heat across the board. In the end Rickie doesn't lose anything and we get where we should be.

I made a post to see if anyone would object to me giving the late entries a break by voiding the week's scores.

It only took one person to object to kill the void plan as far as I was concerned.

Wasn't that you who objected?

Yes, I object to changing anything this week. So if it is up to me, it is nixed. The segment should stand.

If you change the whole year, I don't have any objection. The rules were stated and should be abided by. But if you want to make any changes, I think that is a fair way of changing. It would not be fair to change something for some without changing it for everyone. That would even things out fairly. It is kind of crazy to have a yearly prize where we have all participated for the year but only counted 32 weeks.

I think you were correct in the other thread. Rules are rules. That's why I followed what you said. And I 'think' everyone else is good with it too. So all good.

I'll make double sure everyone is aware if we have an early cutoff for entries again too.

the problem is that it was an unannounced rule change and the rules were only stated when you went to the page to do your picks, if there was a blast message sent then no excuse. Looks like 4 of us regulars (out of only 12 regulars) missed out this week because of this including Wolverine and I tied for 2nd, so it changes the whole segment. But whatever, guess it is what it is but wasn’t done right.

Yeah, if you had posted your picks anyway and put up an objection it could have worked. But with no picks, can't do anything.

Why would I post the picks after I saw the deadline? I’ve always played by the rules and this rule changed. First time in the 12 years or whatever we’ve been doing this it changed like that. FWIW I would have had 3 with Harvick & Cindfic as my losses

The late entries were never going to be included.

They had the advantage of knowing quali outcome.

It was either void all COTA scores for our leaderboard here, or just exclude those guys as we did.

I take at least 50% of the blame for this and am sorry to Rickie, Wolverine, Luvtogamble and Getch13. All of whom could have been in contention for the segment this week.

Once it happened, no solution was going to perfect

The only reason would be to hope that Optional would change his mind and give you credit if you said you did not think it was fair. In that instance, your picks would count. I would not have expressed any disagreement with that policy because I don't think it does you all that much good to wait. However, when Optional was considering throwing out all of our picks so you could have a better chance to beat us, I offered up my objection.

I have added a rule that everyone can drop their worst score of the year for the SEASON pool.

We have had that rule in years past and I do not think knowing or not knowing about it would have affected the way anyone made picks, so after pondering it all for a long time I think this is the fairest compromise given the problem was in large part the fault of the game admin.

You can see your lowest score for the year listed in the 2nd last column from the right. The total takes this into account.

It is just showing who is paid up for that segment right now. 0 score = in.

And 56 out of 100 for the season.
