NASCAR starting to lose some popularity?
I dont follow Nascar that closely, but I used to about 8-10 years ago, back when there was some parity, and some 30/1 or 40/1 longshots would win races alot more than they do nowadays..

My question is Nascar starting to lose some popularity because its alot more predictable nowadays?

As of the end of last season, there was no doubt about the losing of interest, but changes have been made and maybe they work out bringing a situation of new fans arriving / old fans returning. The concern over limited winning ability by only top tier teams is still a concern though, IMO. It would be sooooo nice if we had 43 drivers which could win in any event, but that is simply not the case which is unfortunate.

I hope the bump drafting and the change from the wing to the spoiler on the COT in the near future might spice things up to make for some better racing.

As a whole, you can expect the Nationwide series to gain in popularity, especially the 13 races that Danica Patrick runs in. As far as NASCAR goes, they are trying to losen up the rules so the drivers have more to say about the outcome of a race than the car. They could also use more drivers that have a personality.

Think nascar has lost popularity over the last few years but don't think its due to the fact that races are predictable. Look at this weekend, theres no real favourites to win the race, it could almost be anyone. Even on the oval tracks you have a bunch of drivers capable of winning on any given day.
