Still waiting to good odds. Talladega is such a crapshoot as we know, that i'm leaning long shot. Hoping some good H2H or Position bets come up. Think it will be better bet than a win this week. JJ being 5th favorite may bode well for a big bet on him top 3. Also think Kenseth is worth a look depending on qualifying.KB being made favorite seems odd especially with his results here and losing Addington.

Nascar Qualfying Matchups: Talladega*

*Qualifying analysis void if mechanical failure or accident occurs

My book shows only one decent value bet this week out of the qualifying match ups.

Jeff Gordon +105 vs Mark Martin:

Martin has only competed once at this track since 2006. He had a 7th place run. Prior to that he's cracked the top 10 only once, with a low of 30 in his limited runs since 04. Although Gordon only qualified mid position (14th) in the first go round in 'Bama, JG did qualify 2nd and 3rd at the other super speedway earlier this season. With Martin showing a 2nd and 15th at Daytona this would indicate that the line should have been even.

Factor in both the 24 and 5 holding onto championship hopes, and them being in similar equipment you have to take one value bet unit on JG as the dog.

Wild Card (or lack of one) Factor: This is an impound race meaning that even if rain is near there will be no change in setup as the cars will run for the pole in race trim.

JG 1 unit @ +105

Due to the lack of proper practice runs and the rained out qualifying, not to mention the lottery like nature of Talladega itself I was remiss to even bet this. That being said I looked at the odds and made four bets:

Kurt Busch Top 3 @ +410

Ryan Newman Top 3 @ +675

Ryan Newman to Win @ +2700

Marcos Ambrose to Win @ +10000 (This was just a 10 dollar flyer)
