I added the qualifying cutoff for this race thinking that start position would make so much difference on a road course and was too close to race time this week. Doubtful I will do that again unless a similar situation arises.

Just my two cents but I always go by the rules. The saying where I come from is if you snooze you lose.

why do you change the rules after 10 races have been run. I do not even look at this thread for the matchups till about a hour before the start of the race when it is said in the rules of the contest you have till the green flag to get your plays in

race cost me 800 bet points and a 200 free play because the rules were changed without notice from what we have been using for over 5 years.

I never look at the matchups until between 2 hour before race starts to 30 minutes before race starts. I never win as the tiebreaker is the earliest poster and I have no problem with this as have never complained, but when you change the rules we have been using for over 5 years and no one is informed is wrong.

I was driving to the beach for a week long vacation and pulled over for gas and posted my plays at 11:43 am and did not even read the message about have to be in before race qualifying starts.

I will not be playing in segment 2 or the playoffs and have always played in this contest and supported the nascar contests. best of luck to everyone in the last 2 segments. by the way did we have our plays before qualifing for the charlotte race or was like all the other races since this contest started and you had to post before the green flag dropped.

I am still in the season long contest as paid 600 to be in it, but in stead of having 27 points and 2 behind leader, I have 22 points and 7 behind just because the contest rules were changed with notifying anyone.

Because qualifying was not until the morning of the race, and was very important to making picks on the road course.

So I was thinking it would be best to cut off before quali started so as not to force everyone to wait until a couple of hours pre race to enter.

I am sorry that I did not think to PM everyone. At the time I thought the red line at top would be enough. If I had a do-over, I would PM.

If it did say in the rules you had until green flag to enter (as well as the red line), I would just accept all entries btw. But it doesn't. :\

So, getting locked out of the this race cost me 2nd place in the segment and more likely a tie for 1st and a good chunk of points! Can we at least compromise a little and get the COTA points removed from the season points totals?

Well, it's kind of a friendly game with pretty much the same people year after year. And 25% of normal entrants missed the change, so there was obviously a genuine communication problem.

I'll decide for sure before we update scores after Sonoma but am thinking Ricky's idea for just the season leaderboard sounds fair.

Another fair option is to allow everybody in the race to drop their lowest score. We should all get one do-over as well.
