I will go ahead post a "Daytona 500" thread soon
will just include The Clash and Duels in that along with all 3 series as usual...Plus early 500 bets
The few of us who will bet the Clash and Duels can just post there I see no point in a different thread for the sprint races, plus not like I will bet them like usual races anyways...will just keep everything Daytona for the next 2 weeks in big thread

NASCAR has announced that any team that fails inspection post race AT THE RACETRACK (not RD center) will be DQ'd..
If they won the race, that means 2nd place will be awarded the Victory now..no points at all given and last place $ as well...not even stage pts will count

be very interesting to see how the books treat this....NASCAR says it hopes post-race inspections will be completed within 90 minutes of the checkered flag...So no more "incumbered" finishes...
will books wait til inpsections are done to make sure the race winner is not DQ'd????
my guess is no....they would have to wait on matchups and every other bet because anybody who is DQd finishes last no matter where they finished

I don't think most books will notice and update their rules, so apart from 5Dimes who makes it clear it is the winner in Victory lane, and grade within minutes, it could be a mess the first time it happens at other books.

I can't believe BM already has odds for Daytona.
I guess because it's Daytona.

Vegas sportsbooks announce they will not be grading race winning tickets until post race inspections are complete. Which nascar says may take up to about 90 min to start the season.
Only the 1st place and 2nd place cars will be inspected after every race along with a randomly selected 3rd car

Just now reading about this. I can picture sweating a close race, coming away with the win, and then stressing for 90 minutes hoping he passes post-race inspection.
Good rule I believe, but probably setting up for some pissed off bettors if it ever stings them.

At least we know I guess.
And hopefully the rule means we don't see so many post race failures.
But it is bit of a pain/sweat for gamblers every race now.
