Earnhardt Ganassi Racing has suspended operation of the No. 8 NASCAR Sprint Cup team
Earnhardt Ganassi Racing has suspended operation of the No. 8 NASCAR Sprint Cup team while the organization continues to look for sponsorship for the car and driver Aric Almirola, according to sources familiar with the situation.

Team president Steve Lauletta said last month that the team would race through the April 5 event at Texas Motor Speedway, but needed additional sponsorship to run more races. He said sponsorship prospects were more promising for later in the season than for races in the spring. Almirola is 37th in the driver standings, and the No. 8 team is 37th in the owners standings, 59 points out of the 35th and cutoff position for a guaranteed starting spot. Apr. 7 - 9:07 pm et

Earnhardt Jr's sponsors should drop him. He is average at best.

Economy is going to catch up to many of the bottom feeders this season. That is why I didn't want to have a complicated contest this season. There are going to be to many changes on-going as sponsorship runs low.

Gold, NASCAR really has little racing these dayz. The new cars and the chase system is really boring. Even the announcers talk to much about cars that are not really capable of winning should just move over and stay out of the way. I think if a car is 12 laps down, but has improved it's capability during the race, then that driver and car should race others as hard like they were trying for first. Sad, but very true unfortunately. I am rooting on open-wheel to take back the spotlight.
