he doesnt qualify good very here last few years, but that wont matter in price

even though he hasnt won here in almost 3 years

not near as dominant as he was here, but still the runaway fav.

Sure he will be fave but they been just a bit off here since track repaved a few years back. So many different winners lately it will be tough

agree hasnt fallen off really, but hasnt won anywhere close to b4 repave i agree

compared to b4 he won almost every race here

last 5 races are toughest of the whole season just about every year, and this wont be any easier this week

starting position not near as key as it use to be....

4 of last 5 winners been 10th or worse starting position (10th, 13th, 14th, 20th)

i would want my picks to start top 15 for sure

BUT better cars can definatley pass at phoenix

yes was repaved and reconfigured after spring race 2011

Do your notes mention much about the changes effect? Hvae idea in my head the track changed quite a lot

**keep in mind it was also reconfigured, not just repaved

so just 2 races on this track really

i would consider it a different track completley Opti

turns 1 and 3 arent too different, but more banking on stretch and turn 2 is completley different

i watched earlier races 1st, and was a complete waste of time....last 2 are all that matters IMO, which i noted in my notebook but didnt read that in advance of wasting 7 hrs yesterday

remember in spring races drivers were saying that coming off turn 2 was like dropping down in a hole there was so much elevation change

Thanks. That's what I was thinking.

The new surface might have changed enough in the last 12 months to even make the last 2 only a rough guide as well I think.

BradK and Denny got to run the track in a recent tire test. Wonder if that will be any advantage...

i dont pay any attention to tire tests, nor think its any advantage....but thats just totally my opinion, not saying u cant gain something for urself from it

plus they relay any tire info to all the teams

everybody has had 2 whole races and all those practice sessions(6-8) for races already on the new track

This is one of BradKs worst tracks. Both qualifies and finishes more than 33% worse than his average.
