Competitive Eating - Hot Dog Eating Contest
There is still much debate whether or not competitive eating is a sport or not. It's competitive that's for sure. These guys take no prisoners and they play for keeps.

Nathan's Famous 4th of July Hot Dog Eating Contest begins Tuesday. Pinnacle is offering head to head matchups as well as odds to win the contest. Kobayashi is a heavy favorite. Some considered him to be the Roger Federer of the sport.

:an_roll_l Sorry, he's such a skinny little sh¡t, I just couldn't help but get a chuckle out of the 'heavy favorite' line.

I'm going with Sonya in this one for no particular reason other than I've always been fond of odds around 12:1.

Well I will not be wagering on this event, or even watching it. I kinda find it gross, because I can hardly eat 2 hotdogs because I dont find them all that great tasting.

Funny Willie, Heavy favorite when the guy probably weights 110. :an_roll_l

Kobayaski is the Michael Jordan of this contest and will blow everybody out of the water. The question is, will he break his own record?

"Both Must Eat For Action"....I don't know why, but every time I read that stipulation I chuckle heartily.

They actually showed him lifting weights on the news this morning inpreperation for this event. Why would you need to lift weights anyway?

He's no longer the skinny kid from Japan. He's been working out. I'm sure he's in better shape than most of us posters.

I love the stipulation that any contestant that has a 'reversal of fortune' will be eliminated. BTW Kobayashi is close a thing as there is to a lock.

Rich LeFevre, because he sounds like a fag and I think they got an inherent edge in a hot dog eating contest.

Kobayaski wins... and sets a world record eating 53.5 hot dogs.

He didn't run away with it like he did the past 5 years. Joey Chestnut was a close 2nd with 52. These two, however were way ahead of the rest of the field.

No doubt, 3rd finished with 37 I think.

Joey Chestnut gave me a bit of a scare. I'm glad I didn't bet more than the moneyline. I wanted to put Kobayashi, Chestnut & Thomas in a Trifecta but I don't think any sportsbooks were taking that kind of action.
