International AFL is a joke if this year is how they want to play it; anything this far into the off-season is irrelevant anyway - League is having the same troubles with it's four nation comp - I haven't watched one match of it, and I really like my League.
AFL needs to build the code up to a point where they can have inter-state rivalries, e.g. a 5 state competition between NSW/QLD/SA/WA/VIC, they need to have the games during the season and there needs to be a "prize" for the winner. I would suggest that prize, similar to what MLB does, should be to host the Grand Final.
But we're decades from that. Vic still produces about ~50% of AFL players, and the other states would field anemic teams in comparison.Comment
