I really can't see the value in 1.5 odds. Picking them in the QF's Semi's and Finals is the smartest way to play. As well, you mentioned draws would mean a loss, well you can make a bit that draws are just a refund of your money. And if you really believe that they might draw a match then you shouldn't be betting them to win the whole thing at 1.5. This is just simple capping knowledge.

Finally, no one believes you that you actually put 4k on this.

Unless you know the guy personally then you can't believe anything you hear over the internet. Take a look over in NFL and you'll hear all kinds of crazy bet amounts that aren't backed up. Either way, I have no overall opinion and am just cheering for Canada to finish 3rd in their group as that was the coaches goal ahead of the tourney. Other than that i just sit back and enjoy the good rugby.
