Another Final Disaster!!!!
Seems the tag of "chokers" is finally being justified to India. Just a Fortnight after loosing the finals of the TVS cup to Pakistan. After winning almost all the matches convincingly , except a defeat to Pakistan and a convinicng victory over eventual champions Srilanka in their group encounter,India was at the recieving end in the finals of the tournament.Electing to field first in what looked like a batting paradise ( courtesy Sanath Jayasurya) they restricted the Lankans to a preety getable total of 273. While chasing they did loose Gambhir early but regained grown courtesy some fireworks from Virender Sehwag and when it all seemed good for India tragedy struck. Sri-Lankas newest find Ajantha Mendis coming in to Bowl in the 10th over got rid of India's top 2 batsmen. First Virender Sehwag and then Yuvraj Singh. Team India did loose shaky and eventually lost the match by 100 runs,which came as a shocker since they were 73/1 after 9 overs and required a mere 200 runs from 41 overs at just 4.9 runs an over. Ajantha Silva ended up with 6 wickets and was rightly adjudicated the man of the match and man of the series award.
