Chess Picks for July 5, 2008
    Naiditsch to win -265
    Kramnik - Nepomniatchti Draw -109
Gustafsson - Leko No Draw +224
    Gustafsson to win -104

1] Van Wely played like a complete idiot yesterday, getting miniatured with white. He lost the game before that when a draw was easily obtainable. I don’t see how he’s going to bounce back with black against an ambitious young player who, having just lost a tough game, will be eager to take out the lamb of the tournament with white.

2] Kramnik to draw is too irresistible at this price, though Kramnik will definitely try hard for a win. Nepom has been solid, though.

3] Gustafsson - Leko No Draw (a 1/2 unit) only because the price is too good. Gustafsson is leading the tournament, but Leko will probably shut him down for the draw.

4] Gustafsson to win at -104. People keep underestimating Gustafsson. With white, and at -104, that's a good price to bet him to win. Odds are this game is a draw, though.
