Sugiyama +105
Nieminen +175
I can't believe Nieminen is such a big underdog here as he hase reached the 3rd round easily for the past two years, was a QF'ist in 2006. He's ranked 25 and is comfortable on grass, his 2nd best surface (hardcourt is 1st). Cilic is on a run but he hasn't exactly defeated a player of Nieminen's caliber during that run. I expect Nieminen to win in 4 or 5 sets, it's going to be a tough match.
People always underestimate Sugiyama during majors. She always goes deep and always causes suprises. Pennetta is an inconsistent player and although ranked here and won her 1st round match against an overmatched opponent, I expect Sugiyama's skill and experience (she's not a choker) to carry her through in either two tough sets or three.
I don't feel safe playing game-lines because I've been burned too often either by good players who struggle with their pedestrian opponents (even Federer din't cover yesteray, but I didn't take him) so I'm sticking to finding hidden gems like these for the rest of the tournament, hopefully.
