Julio Diaz vs David Torres 6/25
    Wednesday Night Fights

Diaz is a good boxer that has defeated solid opposition. Got knocked out in a title fight against Juan Diaz so this is his comeback fight.

Torres is an 20-0 fighter who has defeated all of his average opposition, so this is a step up for Torres. If Torres has even an average chin (which he should, he's never been dropped) he won't even be stunned in this fight.

He's a come forward knockout type fighter but he his definitely below Diaz's level, and Diaz is a good boxer but has never knocked out a good solid fighter. Torres's last fight has a KO5 win over Oscar Leon, who also lost before that to Anthony Peterson in a KO5. So Torres isn't a bad fighter. Diaz's last fight against Chavez ended in KO3 but only because Chavez injured his knee.

Diaz should outbox him to a 10 round decision, and surprisingly the odds for this are +158, which I jumped on.

Although I don't disagree the fight should go the distance, 1+1 in boxing doesn't always = 2. Leon was actually a pretty good fighter at one time but was shot by the time he fought Torres. This is a make or break fight for Diaz and I see him coming in well prepared for this one.

He doesn't have much of a punch and I see him simply trying to outwork Torres to win a decision, perhaps 9 rounds to 3. Anytime you've got a guy who can punch a little like Torres, you always have to be wary - especially since Diaz has been KO'd in 3 of 4 his four losses. I'd wager on the Diaz decision but I wouldn't bet the bank.
